I found your channel while looking for YJ material. Waiting for love is an 87 YJ out back of my barn. Been pretty ill over the last couple of years, but the doc says I can get back to work with restrictions. So I will be following along with your project. Best of luck with your channel; consider me a new SUB

Lookin' good. Just mounted a set of 32" Cooper Discoverers. Also got a pair of GraBars to make it easier to hop in.

Cooper makes good tires. I seriously considered getting STT Pros again.

Hack for the HarborFreight tire mount. Rubber pads from either horse stall mats or exercise mat on top and bottom prevents scratches on your wheels.

That's a good idea. I actually have tape wrapped around the top clamp now but these beadlocks are beat up anyway so I didn't bother at first lol.

@@HardEarnedBacon 😆. Yeah I’m hoping to fit 35s but that’s a long way down the road. I put the Old Man Emu 2.5 lift kit and 6” shackles, can’t remember how much lift you went with. Next project is the SYE and new shaft as my geometry is no bueno now. Happy wrenching.

That's an excelent tire my friend. Also BFG are never that big as the "" suggest. I Had a set of 31s that were actually 30.5s, then I went up to a set of 32 KO2's these where 31-ish. 6 months later I went up to 33s and they were barely 32 inches tall. My guess is that a BFG KM3 35 is actually about a 34 inch tire, maybe that's why they don't appear that big. By the way, these are one of the best tires I ever had, way better then the more expensive brands or the cheap Patagonia that seem to be a hype nowadays. I'm currently running a set of 33" Geolander MT on my TJ now and they seem up to par with the KM3's. I would like to go up to 35 as well, but I'm still rocking the D35 with 307 gearing. My 4.0 turns the 33s with ease, even in the 5th gear but a 35 will render my 5th gear obsolete. It's almost impossible to get a D44 over here in the Netherlands . . . if there's one for sale, you pay 1500 bucks easily and it's sold within 15 minutes. What rear end do you have? From what car? Looking forward to watch your other videos.

They look good. I live where we get snow and ice and I've always used mud tires on my jeep. They work better than the A/T's do in my opinion. I'd rather use M/T's on a jeep myself

Are you in the hills or on the flats? When I lived in the NC mountains my MTs were always better in fresh and deep snow but once it packed down and froze solid I could barely get up steep hills and driveways. Duratracs were my favorite tire for that reason, a good hybrid tread pattern.
@jk_wrangler13
@jk_wrangler13 Год назад
@@HardEarnedBacon I live in the flats now. But I also lived in NC. That's where I grew up. But when I was in NC I ran only wrangler mud tires and never had a problem no matter what type of conditions the roads were. Now that I live in Missouri and tires have changed over the years I have BFG k 2's. But I really don't like them. They will be charged once I get the money.

Looks great - I'm rebuilding my 94 YJ this winter. A couple quick questions...how is the 8.8 working? I'm building that rear for mine as well. For the front dana 30 did you go chromoly shafts? I'm trying to decide on 33s or 35s
@HardEarnedBacon

No issues so far, just driving around it feels no different than the stock axle did. I have Yukon chromolys in the front. Go 35s!

@HardEarnedBacon
@HardEarnedBacon Год назад
Drives good, no issues. Takes more steering input to turn than it did with the 31s but that is mainly because of the extra width. I don't think you will be able to really feel a difference coming from 33s.
