The B-25 didn't start out as a formidable gunship. It was initially lightly armed and not much use against shipping targets in the the Pacific. A man named "Pappy" Gunn (irony) changed all that.. by stuffing Browning 50's anywhere they could be fitted. These modifications were eventually banned due to safety concerns, but set the course for the B-25 to become once of the most lethal ground attack aircraft of the war.
