We are on our way to visit the highest geyser in the world- the 'El Tatio' geyser. Located in the northern Chilean mountains, at 4,320 meters above sea level (14,170 ft), we are warned about the altitude sickness.
Altitude sickness is a harmful effect of high altitude, caused by rapid exposure to low amounts of oxygen at high elevation. Symptoms may include headaches, vomiting, tiredness, confusion & dizziness. As we recently experienced acute sea sickness, while coming back from Antarctica, are curious to see which is worse- altitude or sea sickness.
