How did I make the transition from working as an architect to becoming a full-time working architecture photographer? Well, it wasn't easy and there were many challenges along way, namely leaving behind the education I spent many years pursuing. It has proven (so far) to be the best career decision I have ever made.
Do you have a similar experience? We would love to hear about it in the comments below.

Being that I’ve been in a day job I hate for about 3 years but building my portfolio and learning architectural photography for the past year and a half these videos could not possibly be more valuable. I hope as I become more experienced and connected in my market I can share knowledge and help others like you do, instead of like most of the last generation that keeps everything a secret and views other photographers as nothing more than competition. Please keep doing what you are doing! Thank you!!!

Thanks for the kind words. Sharing our process is the best thing we can do to help the photography community. The more people that succeed, the better it is for the industry as a whole.

Your work has always been a mystery to me. The lighting and exposure is almost ghost-like. Thank you for opening up and sharing your knowledge!

How to approach learning about architecture as a photographer? I would love to learn about architecture, so it will help my photography, but also don't have years of time to really study the entire subject it in depth.

Thanks Trent for this. I’ve been a 3D rendering artist for architects and interior designing for seven years .. due to some issues I left that and moved into wedding photography for almost 5 years now and I wanted to go back to what I had loved but with his medium. I have shot one interior project and am trying to get more work. Thanks for sharing these ideas and others as well on the channel. I would really appreciate if you could share some ideas on getting new work. Thanks. Awesome work Trent .. saw work on the website few days ago.

Hey Girish, Thanks for the feedback. We have a video coming out soon about personal projects that I think might help answer some questions.

Well, I was really looking forward to this video. I can relate to the aprehension of leaving behind and "identity" as an "architect" in order to become something else. For me is been hard because I feel like I failed to be an architect, and this makes me feel inferior in some way... of course I know is not at all, but still is difficult to shake that thought. Also I wonder if along the way... Did you struggle with doubt, selfsabotage or impostor syndrome kind of things?? I guess I´m trying to feel a little at ease with my introverted, hypersensitive, INFPish self right now LOL. Thanks for sharing Trent.. you are such an inspiration. Saludos!

Glad this video found you at the right time. Of course I struggled with all of those things, its about pushing through and producing that best work you can. Work that represents your vision and creativity. After all, no one can produce an image exactly like you can, your voice is unique and it takes time to develop. Sounds like you are on the right path. Thanks for watching Andrea!
