We transformed a dilapidated hotel surrounded by asphalt along the Duwamish River in Tukwila into critical habitat for salmon and greenspace for communities.
I wonder how many of you grew up along the river like I did and have seen all the changes that have taken place ? At one time in history, the 60's and early 70's, the Green was always in the top ten producing rivers for Steelhead. The Fishing and Hunting news of the day published çounts for the state. Allen Town was a hot spot for us plunkers in December. Then the state moved in, took away our parking and dug in a bunch of logs along the bank. Ruined it. This is just one example. Now everyone is targeting Chums and calling that fishing.
