Kevin Larson was on a jog in the early morning hours of Dec. 13, 2023. It was chilly and foggy when he jogged through a residential Tacoma neighborhood near his home and was struck by what he describes as felt like a rake. He soon realized a barred owl had deemed him prey and was repeatedly swooping down at him.
