Natasha is wise beyond her age, I like her analogy of Zambian youths & Zambians at large in regards of investment, starting a business & managing a business. Farming is very lucrative but most of us don’t want to get in to it because we want to make fast money rather than building a solid business from ground up…

I was supposed to go study in Estonia last year but plans changed & I am doing my studies within Lusaka. And yes about people taking care of each other, I totally agree. Even though I live in Lusaka I have traveled to other parts of Zambia like the Copperbelt, Central Province, Southern Province, Western Province and I have always had shelter & food either from my extended family or family friends and that makes me so grateful. Even when I had to work in different rural places for a couple of weeks, the villagers in all the places we went to for the first time were so kind & they would give us food like pumpkins, Maize, full live Chickens, Vegetables or even invite us for a meal & insist that we joined them. I honestly was so humbled by their kind & caring gesture. I hope you guys enjoy your stay in Zambia.

Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi were once one country and the capital city was called Salisbury. This was done to the advantage of the settlers for numbers only. All the resources from Nyasaland Malawi and Northern Rhodesia were sent to Salisbury, South-Africa and England. However Zambia enjoys warm relations with both countries. We have similar names like Ndlovu, Phiri etc because of the mfecane.

I love what you guys are doing. You know what, Africans, black Americans and other black people in diaspora should come together to develop Africa. The current businesses owned by non black people in Africa have made millionaires and have largely contributed to the development European countries. Zambia alone has largely contributed to the development of Switzerland and India. The money's black people in the diaspora spend of expensive cars can be invested in mining and get higher returns. Black people in the diaspora can form a black IMF to be lending money to African countries. Black IMF can build Africa to be most developed continent because only black people knows the struggles of the fellow black person. Black IMF can build cities better than Tokyo New York etc. In Zambia alone, there's abundant natural resources and enough land to build great cities that can be owned and controlled by black people. Black people in the diaspora should start taken keen interest in the African politics because you are the people who fought for Africa's independence. The real Heroes are you guys because without you, it wouldn't have been easier for any African country to attain independence. Our leaders back then used to travel to America to meet people like Malcolm X and others to get guidance on the way forward. Kenneth kaunda, Kwame Nkruma, Robert Mugabe and others are among those who used to share ideas with Malcolm X on the welfare of Africa and African people. Just see how the black lives matter movement have positively affected the African people. The impact might be minimal but it will be seen in the long run.

There’s no spending without earning. I think people look at spending as if that’s an indication of wealth….but that’s not…it’s also an indication of debt. Not everyone is an entrepreneur to start a business and run it employing people there. I think that could be a point of hesitation… but many more people now are considering how they could possibly make a living in some African countries…that’s progress. I so would like to go, but I’m in my 60’s, so I have to look at a lot of different factors at this age. But I love seeing the young folks building those ties to Mama Africa!

Hey guys, for the orange sweet potatoes, try an area called Mandevu near the Heroes Stadium (Independence Stadium). You may likely find some there cos there are different suppliers who go to sell sweet potatoes there from different places outside Lusaka. A few farmers grow them. If I find more info I will post here. Natasha, with your chicken business, consider getting some training at Livestock in Showgrounds on how to keep chickens (poultry farming) and they will also teach you how to make your own feed which works out cheaper. It was only K50 in 2020 and if they have increased it should be K100 or K150 and that's just basically a day, say from 9hrs to about 15 hrs you are done. There are some other farming courses livestock offers and some of them are done from the University of Zambia or at the Livestock offices. Consider also keeping village chickens like black astraulop breed and sasol breed. They will advise you at livestock.

I always wonder why people who leave Zambia to go and work in America or UK for too many years. I mean,it not wise at all. The wise thing to do is to go make money and come back and invest. @@cholamwapw6498 the idea is go and make lots of money and invest back home then when comfortable, come back and stay. I know Africa is frustrating especially when you have no resources. I know a few of my friends who have come back and they are doing very fine. These days they just go to Europe and USA for holidays. They have property around lusaka which gives them a lot of money. Just a few months ago, I even got a farm land for my friend next to mine and the guy has put up a good house there with chicken houses, piggery and he is planning to do up fish ponds, his far will start running very soon coz he has already stocked up livestock. Right now I am helping him start chili farming. He is very real and he has not even changed the accent. He is doing extremely well. I also have friends out there who only speak some accent when we talk. But they have no property even where they are. All they have are bills. My aunt recently came back from USA. She has built 4 nice flats, she bought some shops where people are renting, she even opened one shop where she sells salaula from America. I recently helped her setup a peanut butter mini production plant and her peanut butter is now in Pick n Pay super market. She is going back to USA soon and this time around when she comes back, it will be for good. Right now she is busy building a house where she will stay when she comes back finally. So raise capital and come back home, you people are exposed, you can thrive here very much.

What your guest talk about it happens in the United States. Selling their houses and land to these investors that offer low money for your home and land. These investors pray on people who have lack of knowledge about business. You guys are talking truth. Yes we have to be taught about business and keeping land. Buying land. Learn about finance and unity. Do for self. Having your own business. Being around like minded people. Peace and blessings.

This is the history of AmaNdebele located in Zim. It has nothing to do with colonial boarders. They originated early in the 19th century as an offshoot of the Nguni of Natal. Mzilikazi, an Nguni military commander under Shaka, king of the Zulu, came into conflict with Shaka and in 1823 was forced to flee, migrating with his followers first to Basutoland (now Lesotho) and then north to the Marico Valley.

In the past most people just wanted to get into employment and retire, not anymore. The are many that want to start their own business but got no access to capital. We got no venture capitalists in most African countries, only banks and other financial institutions but they’ll not give you money if you got no collateral and if you got assets to use as collateral the interest rates are exorbitant you end up defaulting most of the time. For people coming from outside of Africa it’s so easy to set up business because when you convert the currency to kwacha it goes a long way. The solution is governments coming with policies and regulations to make access to capital affordable and easy.

We have to change our outlook of what success means, OWNER not WORKER. The system is such that foreigners see the opportunities and are wealthy because of our mindset. We can change this with the right leadership. The raw resources on the continent are being controlled by others and the indigenous people are impoverished, living in shanty towns without having water in some countries, its heartbreaking....but its not to late. The youth are blinded by western culture, but if we collectively network our business knowledge, resources, culture and finances, we could make a big impact.

Shopping malls aren't indicative of any progressive govt policy beyond issuing a license for an investor to setup shop. Zambia losses billions of dollars every year with a tax policy that basically allowed the copper mine owners to pay a tax according to their desires. This led to situations were the difference paid in taxes paid by two similar mines varied by as much as 1.5 billion dollars. Zambia, like most African countries; is rich, mineral resources wise, underground but poor above ground. We as Black people, need to say enough is enough, we can no longer stand idle, and be sworn to a life of semi slavery because our so called leaders, like the tobacco, whisky, slve chiefs, of the passed, are stealing our resources. The most hideous form of racism we face today, as Black people, is poverty, poverty brought on by structural racism in the west, drug dealing & corruption by Black leaders in Africa and the Caribbean. When an African country like Congo DRC, worth 75 trillion dollars underground, is maimed and looted, by the rest of the world, millions of lives are lost, and we do nothing, we are complicit. If every country in this region, simply dug up and sold their mineral resources for the right price, poverty, in the region, and by extention, in Africa, would be nonexistent, Africa would be ten fold Dubai, in terms of infrastructure. Its important that we understand the linkage between the worldwide subjugation of the Black man, and the corruption in Africa; other races are pillaging Africa to improve on the well-being of their own races at the expense of the Black race.

Too many traitors/enablers in our kind :( chasing the good life at the expense of your own kind. Selfish/corrupt leaders are destroying this continent. Home schooling my kids, moving back to the village. Things will change... God willing!

Oh dear here we go again. Would you rather we had market stalls and street vendors instead of shopping malls? Do you realise that shopping malls are a part of infrastructure?

@@musondabodymindhealth4204 If market stalls and street vendors is what it will take for a poor mother to feed her children, then I would gladly take that over a glossy mall that can only cater for the corrupt, with their ill gotten gains. It's more unsightly for me, to see individuals, with $200,000 range rovers, with no underlying legal business; waltzing in and out of plush malls whilst the average person can not afford to fill up a shopping basket with groceries. And as for infrastructure, it has been repeatedly stated on this channel, the gripe with America, for the Black man, is that whilst America is brimming with shinny skyscrapers, the average Black person, like in South Africa, and Brazil, is locked in economically deprived ghettos as a result of legacies of racial oppression & discrimination against Black people. It's just not simply about infrastructure; what good will a skyscraper do for you, when you are starving. And if it's plush malls alone, in the midst's of poverty, even when you do go to the toilets, in these malls, you will be reminded of the poverty of the average person, in contrast to the glitzy, shop front windows. In short, you only become rich, when we all become rich, anything less, is just a mirage.

It’s difficult to provide information without you providing specific figures, what I consider comfortable for me might not be for you. But to give you an idea, $350 is enough to see you through the month in Zambia, this includes monthly rentals.
