Join me on a journey to the heart of Georgia, where we will explore the ancient art of Qvevri pot-making with master craftsman Zaza Kbilashvili. We will discover the rich history and cultural significance of these unique clay vessels, which have been used for winemaking for over 8,000 years.
So sorry for some quality of the video, I did not have any lights with me.
Witness the dedication and passion of Zaza and his family as they keep this ancient tradition alive. Whether you're a wine enthusiast, a history buff, or simply curious about Georgian culture, this video offers a fascinating glimpse into the timeless craft of Qvevri pot-making.
Despite its significance as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, few craftsmen today know how to make Qvevri. Zaza Kbilashvili is one of the last masters, a fourth-generation Qvevri maker. His family is one of only a few in Georgia specializing in these unique vessels
