LP 2, From Elvis In Memphis Mofi is on the turntable! Is it going to be a bit warped, or in great shape? Let’s find out! #elvispresley #elvis #elvismusic
Congratulations Mark. I have the MoFi Vinyl and the MoFi CD. I listening to the CD and made comparsions with various BMG/RCA "From Elvis In Memphis" CD's from the 1980's (Germany, USA, Australia etc), the extended BMG Editions from the late 1990's plus the FTD and the Sony Legacy CD Edition 2009. I still prefer the Sound of the Sony Legacy CD. To my ears it's the most naturally Sound but as always, it's my humble opinion only😉 Thank You Mark
The initial reviews have put me off this release. Not the sound but the qualirlty control, as you mentioned. Like you i might wait for a good sale price, but i have 4 vinyl versions and FTD releases plus a few regular cd releases as well. So no rush in getting this.
Yes, MOFI had some issues in warping on this release! I bought this and luckily my copy had no warping My problem was that I wasn’t that impressed with the sound quality Glad you enjoyed it though!!
It’s all about perception and what a person likes. I’ve heard others that said they thought the original pressing sounded as good. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Hi Mark, like your video feeds and the info your give your viewers. As for the "Elvis In Memphis" Mofi I will not be getting this release. With the warping issues and the mediocre packaging one would expect more not less from Mofi. If I was to purchase this item, by the time it gets to me here in Brisbane Australia I would be paying well over $500 for an LP that is 54 years old. I'll stick to my original copy from 1969 which according to many Elvis experts and my ears, is equal to and to many, better sounding than what has come after the original release. The quality Control on these current releases is abysmal. I have the American Sound FTD Box Set that and the original will do me fine. I hope you have success with your purchase. Go well.
Thanks for watching! I was nervous about mine being warped so I was relieved to find the LPs were fine. I do understand your concerns though! It’s why it took me well over a year to take a chance! I only did for the 20% sale! 👍🏻
Mark, surely there's a raise & drop lever for the arm on that expensive turntable to where you don't have to do it by hand, which risks scratching your records.
I do not have Speakers Corner (which I’m a fan of the label!) but honestly, there’s no comparison to the Mofi. All of our opinions and why we hear is always going to be subjective but I was blown away with the clarity and the wall of sound listening to it. If you can find it at a fair price, I think it’s worth the investment! 👍🏻
@@markselvisforeveryonechann1153 I don't own a single MoFi record as they're too expensive here in the UK 🇬🇧 but I have a couple of Analogue Production records as they're a bit cheaper over here. Glad you're enjoying the record Mark! Keep spinning that vinyl! 🙂
Glad you escaped the dreaded warping buddy. What would you say makes it sound better? I'm curious as the EAP Society boys didn't rate the MoFi SACD version very highly
Hello Sir. I don’t have an SACD player and mostly the guys at the EAP Society don’t review vinyl so it’d be difficult for either of us to compare. Right away, just the amazing clarity and crispness hit me. I heard some things that you don’t pick up on with the original or MOV ones, which I do think sound great. There’s a very clear upgrade in sound quality though. The backing vocals are what really impressed me. It was a really great listening experience. Throw in that From Elvis In Memphis is a favorite of mine, this to me was a great decision to buy, especially at around $100 on sale! 👍🏻
