I wanna explain for u guys outside Sweden, this was a serie of 4 episodes, spanning between 80´s to today. Now i just found this utube version and i havent watched it yet but its far from long enough to cover all 4 episodes.
I have talked about this doc for a long time and so happy its available outside Sweden now, but why no subs? I learned so much from this serie on Swedish public access tv.
I see it has not been translated yet. Over 6 years have passed.. Man, you could have all learned Swedish in a shorter period than this. Then you would have known how much effort it takes to translate and add English subtitles here.
I am watching it even without knowing Swedish.I am just curious what other bands we don't know there are and did not make it big. Ice Age here might have been big but I am not sure if producer is saying true(he speaks english) or the girls from Ice Age is saying something different? Thanks for posting it.Just thought it would be good to have something like this about Polish rock and metal.
Was Europe the first Heavy Metal band to come out of Sweden?"The Final Countdown" was my favorite songs in early 1987.The song played on all the rock stations here in Baltimore,Maryland.
i know. this is a documentary about literally ALL of my favorite bands. they all write their lyrics in english. its a doc about how sweden produces music that the rest of the world love, why cant it be in english? i feel like such an anglocentric american

56:39 "FUTURE BREAD MACHINE" ??? Programmed to appease you We're toasted to perfection Flour transformed by your laws: Measure, Combine, then Prove, Lesson first: Be patient, We're spongy, doughy lumps Don't disturb the proving Then bake me deep within
That was I believe so the message retained and could be understood by a larger audience. I know a lot of early In Flames records had Swedish lyrics that were translated to English and subsequently sung in English for that reason
The average British small town has at least two metal bands that are more imaginative and important than anything here, and if you don't speak Swedish, don''t worry, just watch Spinal Tap and you'll get the gist.
