@@maissa1983 during that time he was in fftl was his darkest moments drugs/depression I mean his songs says it all but it was raw and awesome the best moments are the most painful ones
@@thebeginning2595 really! I've heard few of his songs, that's sad but he never opened up about it, I just hope he got the help he needs to overcome it all
@MAISSA it is the first I've heard that story in 15 odd years since Sonny left fftl. He left to pursue a solo career and had had problems with his vocal chords for a number of years at that point.
I really hope they do another show. Grew up listening to them and they paved the way to my scene days in 2007 😂 finding out Sonny returned is crazy, I just hope they actually out out an album and this wasn’t just some “Emo night” fling
I'm a New Orleans native mostly residing for at least some time in every surrounding suburb of NOLA throughout my childhood. This show took place on the weekend of my 27th birthday and as a fan of FFTL in my young emo kid teenage years, just being able to attend this show in my dirty city was more than I would have ever hoped for. (New Orleans doesn't get as much concerts as other well known cities. Probably because we're a lot more dirty and crime ridden than most tourists realize. Even if you have heard bad things about New Orleans, I promise you things are much worse than you heard. lol) Don't get me wrong, I've always loved being able to grow up with the culture that comes with being here. The culture here is something special and unlike anywhere else in the world. But I understand why people don't volunteer to come here as easily as other big cities. Back to this show in 2019: I was just felt so lucky this show was taking place at home and I could actually go. That was the best bday I could have hoped for. And I was given VIP tickets from a good friend so I had a great spot for the show and got a special shirt and vinyl record. After the show ended, me and my friend went and got pizza next door. I was very much drunk at this point and needed to sober up some before drive home. Leaving the pizza place my hand is grabbed and I'm being led to the street curb by my friend. I look up and Sonny Moore/Skrillex is right there interacting with people who obviously rushed him while trying to sneak out the venue into his ride that was stopped by the curb. It took a minute for my drunk ass to realize what was going on and by the time I did it was my turn to be acknowledged and Sonny is 2 feet in front of me waiting for me to say something. I'm so drunk and tired and instead of saying something cool I just told him I had a crush on him when I was 14. lmao. XD Sweet man that Sonny is smiled at me then gave me like 4 mini kissies on my cheek and hugged me! Never thought I would ever let myself be star struck ever. Probably would have presented myself better if I hadnt been drunk as well as completely not realized what was happening till he was right in my face. lol I'm thankful for him being so nice/cool about my awkward/drunken interaction with him and for the very unexpected affection. Pretty sure I'll never forget the was his facial hair scruffies felt on my face when he kissed my cheek. lol (He also gave my friend a hug and quick kiss on the cheek before me. But I got like 4/5 cheek kissies. And I didnt even have to say it was my bday weekend! ^_^ Definitely thought I was cute! lol)
Dude same, i just found out recently that he returned in 2017 and the last show being in 2019, I really hope they do another album for the 10th anniversary of dear diary (2004). I never got to see them as a teen so I hope I get to 😢
@@pannomic1818 that's totally fair, I respect it 🤝 Even though even back then I thought it was someone else doing the screams not him... I could be wrong though
@@aaronvilla3824 true he was there for the travis, matt, derek & sonny lineup when they were touring for Dear Diary in 2004-2007 Which is like the time period people think of when they think of FFTL
That's still Derek. I'm sure the recording is just muffled so it sounds distorted. He is still god like on drums. Look up if I die first. Him and Travis the long haired guitar player are in it together with some emo rapper dudes.
Awesome, but it's not the original lineup. Sonny is not an original member Not even Travis or Derek if we took in count that From First to last derived from an earlier band called First too last from which the only reamining member is Matt.
This is a stupid comment. First too last was a different band; but even had Travis and Derek. Even the original First too last demos had Travis on screams, Derek on drums, and Matt on vocals. The Aesthetic EP which remastered the demos, welcomed Phillip on Vocals. So again, stupid comment and do your research lol.
@@nesswatch7935 1. If youre wondering why you still a virgin maybe is because you call people stupid on the internet even worse... when you are wrong. 2. Read again my comment (learn first maybe ? ) and then maybe you'll understand what i was meaning. 3. The one who has to do a research is you man, go check the facts and then talk. What a bopper.
I love how the crowd is singing more than sonny is cuz we know he can't sing these days. Still messed up what from first to last did with spencer just to try and grab more cash. 🗑️
