Of course there are phenomenal renditions such as Yunchan Lim and Bruce Liu and a few others, but other than that. Not many

@@julianevans5211 true. Same with Chopin’s variations brillantes-not so many recordings. For the variations on la ci daren la Mano, I’d also check out recordings of, trifonov, lisiecki, gilels.

@@julianevans5211 its pretty obvious that Bruce Liu's is the best Yunchan plays the first variation too fast for Chopin making it not as musical as Bruce

Its always great to have ab inisighr into pianists practice and how even a shorter focused practice can make you improve! Hey traum! Why do you play the beginning so often without completing it, I was always of the persuasion that the best practice is to play it slowly, but accurately, without stopping, but you don’t use this method, and are a much greater pianist than me, so it would help to have your insight on how to practice optimally.

There's a touching scene in the movie "Song of Love (1947)". Franz Liszt plays his "Widmung" version. When he finished playing it, Clara complains about all the fireworks and confetti Liszt put it into the song. She also say the virtuosity is not necessary to reach the beauty. So she seats and start playing the Schumann original score. There's also a heartbreaking second scene about this song - but I will not spoiled it! This movie deserves to be watched. A really good one. BTW: I prefer the Liszt's version :D Congrats Traum!
