Well if u got, the patience to handle the logistics then grooming and the daily inconvenience of 'waste' inconvenience not just for u though, especially when your travelling publicly
It's easy to romanticize the past when we aren't living in it. Suburbia has its problems, but going back to horse-drawn carriages is not something to be desired. I guess if you really want to, you could always move to Amish Country and live the dream!
A horse is much faster than a car in London, more versatile, no pollution, eats grass and reproduce itself. If you ride a horse in a daily basis you will be fit and healthy Cars wasn't a good ideea, was it? Maybe only for bankers
If I think like a progressive it's only because some are trying to hold on to the past so much.. the thing I've noticed with those who in my life embrace the climate warming arguments if you start talking about their icons and political figures and anything against what they've heard they start tuning you out and changing the subject because their icons & political figures haven't told them everything there is to think about and that's always bugged me.. getting tuned out when I'm bringing up things they haven't even thought about or heard the arguments speaking to. But on the other hand when you look at how many oil products you need to just operate a modern automotive internal combustion engine you realize there's a very good reason why oil companies are fighting so hard against anything else. Engine oil, power steering fluid where applicable, brake fluid, transmission fluid, antifreeze, and that's just for a gas engine. There's going to be a need for petro chemicals and oils for awhile or until they invent something to replace them. But that doesn't mean I'm going to jump on Koch's or the Hamm bandwagon and want to help a family of billionaires at my expense. I think some of the arguments people take up are more political than factual and I don't want to be known for taking up political causes that might not have their facts straight. I'd rather be known for being a little more even handed.
Its looking like another transition is on the horizon. Over a hundred years ago it was horses to cars. Now its gas cars to electric cars. Its about time we need a change. Just think if the electric car was introduced in the 1980s how far we'd be now
Electric cars were invented at the same time as gasoline and steam engines in the mid-1800's. They didn't take off because of the state of batteries back then, and remained the biggest obstacle for electric cars until late 2000's.
