I was in Greenwich Village in NYC that day, picking up some 45s at Strider Records on 22 Jones Street. PATH trains, as well as the Subway, was shut down. I had to take a NY Waterway ferry over to Hoboken Terminal, then a diesel-powered NJ Transit Morristown Line train to Brick Church in East Orange to get back home. It was a living hell.

I wasn’t even in high school yet. I was coming from Sylvain that day and while at Sylvain learning center I found out that the power was out and I thought I did something wrong 😆 didn’t know this going to happened at all and the traffic jam was going bananas 🍌 no light 💡 show red orange or green it was almost like a car crash 💥

I was 9. Had to buy a flashlight from 99¢ store. The flashlight was a plug-in charge kind. My parent and I were like, "Well, that's helpful." One of my family friends had to walk all the way from Manhattan to Brooklyn... Fun memories
