Lumber videos remind me of my grandfather. He built his own full size sawmill on their property and powered it with a steam engine. They put on a steam engine show a couple times a year called it "Old Stump Jumpers Show" He had a huge cider press to make and sell cider. Made hand made brooms with a little steam engine. Grandma sold apple butter and crafts. Little putt putt gas engines. He built a small lumber and steam engine museum ❤. They were quite the pair. Sure miss those days.

It doesn't matter that you are not the expert on milling but you give hope because it is often best to follow someone who is just a few steps ahead than one who is miles ahead and you do not know how they got there.

This work is fantastic for anyone who is at "retirement" age. Way better than going to the gym AND you have something to be proud of at the end if each day (besides six pack abs). I'm 68 years old and while most of my friends are "retired" I am building a Timber Frame mountain lodge style cabin for my wife and I to retire to. The greatest adventure of my life (and I've had a few adventures) probably the best shape of my life as far as fitness is concerned. I've been a professional Blacksmith for 45 years so there's that! Haha

Looks like a good day's work. I don't have a reason to have a big saw mill like yours but I do enjoy watching.

Hello 👋 Chuck, several years ago I learned about chrysanthemum oil as an organic wasp and hornet spray. If you let the colony settle down and slowly walk up to the area you will be able to see where they are going in and out of the ground from a small hole

Chuck, I try to RU-vid any project I’m planning to see how others may do or think and then I do it my way with all that in mind. I really like your barn/sawmill shed/workshop area. I need one!! Smoky Mountain Outpost

Chuck, I don't recommend gravel it will get stuck in the bark. Your spot looks good. Stack your logs on 8x8s or small low quality logs . Then spray the area with round up to keep down the grass this will keep the dirt dry and hard . And should help with wasp. Great video. Keep it up. It's better you getting stung than Sundra, everybody's favorite 😍

Perfect Sunday morning video, Chuck. We have a woodmizer in the shed we bought from my great uncle before he passed, new inspiration to get it out and do something with it! Have a great day.

Sorry to point this out always put your stickers directly above your cross outs below or your lumber will wave

There is a product, called wood lath that is used underneath a plaster wall. 5\16 x 1 1/2 x 48 inches. Usually comes in a bundle of 50 pieces. Our Home Depot stocks them. You could use those to “sticker” your sawn lumber for drying.

Does Ssndra have a bee suit? I pretty sure she has a bee jacket. If she has a suit, wear it to defeat the yellow jackets. I've worn mine to deal with wasps, and I've seen guys wear them to deal with hornets.
