Using that cutouts tobox in those cut sections is a great idea👍 The frame will be stronger then before the modification.

Welding the box section you had the Wire speed dialed in better. I knew you would change it after you started. I am not a professional welder anymore but when you first started welding after you cut the chassis the wire speed was off and making me cringe😂 Great video once again Mike.

WB; this truck is starting to look amazing. I love those black weld soot marks, they look like black flames with bullet holes beneath them. Keep them and clear over them, they are too cool to remove (even though they will be hidden by the bed). Love your work, keep doing what you do. Thank you for the videos WB!

pretty cool stuff my dad as a kid i was 11 he had a 64 chevy 6 banger 3 speed on tree.the rear end was grinding we lived on this old farm.and so he took a old allis chalmers tractor put the rear end in back of the 64 with chains and a plow on front thats how he plowed the snow back in late 70s our driveway was along ways to gravel back then it was nothing to wake up with 4 foot drifts.when he was building it he bought a bull cow.one night after school im looking outside window.i yelled to mom hey mom the bull is dragging dad all over.dad was hanging onto a rope dad was just bouncing along the ground yelling at bull lol

That looks awesome shortened up like that. But I'm curious why with thick steel you have to let it cool off and can't just weld it all at once like I've seen others do.

Mike, #weird beard, in the UK, if you repair a car by cutting it and putting two parts together, it's called a cut and shut and is illegal if you get caught. You can face up to 15 years in prison 😢 don't ask how I know 😊😊

Lots of different ways to shorten and lengthen frame... the chevy dealer would have cut straight... when I do mine I do them straight... everyone will argue which is better.
