Now this is part 9 of the CNC conversion of a MANUAL MILLING MACHINE to a RETROFITTED CNC MILL. In this progress video I show the first movements of this machine. The CNC control will be executed with use of a AXBB-E CNC Ethernet Motion Controller and UCCNC Software from cncdrive.com. I'll show my configuration of the software and the HMI panel. And we will try to make some first chips!

Hello! This are the first test of my CNC milling machine made out of an old Milling machine. Note there were little issues with stiffness in Y axis guides so I had to take light passes in steel. I made some adjustments and now it works much better and I will share some real tests soon! :) Thanks for watching! :)

Creo que me he mareado viendo el panel. Esos servos son algo extraños, yo estoy pensando en usar Clear Paths pero no para fresadora por ahora, tengo algunos problemas con mi variador chino, no me facilitan software en NFlixN. Enhorabuena, comenta qué exactitud obtienes cuando midas todo.

Great retrofit and documentation. How did you do the tuning on x,y and z in regards to the gain?

Thanks! Regarding the gain - I didn't do any tuning. From the begining the axes seemed to work well on the default gain settings so I didn't touch that at all.

Dzięki! Dużo testów jeszcze nie przeprowadziłem ale wstępnie dają radę bez problemu. Nawet musiałem obniżyć prędkość osi poniżej ich możliwości bo strach śmigać na F7500 przy prowadnicach na jaskółkach. Co do dokładności to wrzucę za niedługo jeszcze jakieś testy ale wstępnie większość wymiarów wychodzi w kilku setkach przy próbach, które wykonałem. Poużywam dłużej to będę w stanie coś więcej powiedzieć na ten temat.

Hi. In SETTING-SPINDLE there are these two parameters: "M7 delay after ON:" and "M8 delay after OFF:" but in the UCCNC manual i read ......"M7 delay after ON: This is a numeric value. The software dwells for the set amount of time in milliseconds when a M7 command is programmed and after the Mist output goes active. M8 delay after ON: This is a numeric value. The software dwells for the set amount of time in milliseconds when a M8 command is programmed and after the Flood output goes active. So the info in the screen refer to ON and OFF state but the manual refer to ON and ON state. Do you know which is the right one ? The screen info or the manual info ???

To be honest I didn't have a chance to check it out by myself. But I think it should be quite easy to check it out by yourself - just try to type a value which would refer let's say to 3 or 5 seconds and you will see how does it behave.

@@GBWM_CNC Hi. Here the UCCNC Support reply : ""You're right, it's a typo on the screenset. M7 and M8 turns on the mist and coolant and the delays are after turning them on. The M9 turns off the M7 and M8, so the delay after off is for it. We will fix the screen, thanks for the input."" Hope this helps somebody else

Thanks! At this point I wasn't thinking about a 4th axis. But maybe in the future - who knows! There are still some outputs free on the CNC controller for that 😄

Hi. Which are the electrical connections to do to turn ON/OFF the coolant pump 'manually via the switch' and 'automatically via the controller' ?? I'm not able to figure out the connections i need to use the controller and the switch together 😞

I'd have to check how does it look on my machine - I'll be home tommorow so maybe I'll have a second to check it out (I don't remember exactly because I didn't fill the coolant tank yet)

@@IceCreams62 Hi! today I checked. I hooked up the pump relay (M8) to pin2 on port 1 in the and the manual switch is connected to pin 12 on port 3 with fuction number 510 (in the input trigger tab)

Mulțumiri! Am cheltuit aproximativ 3600 USD, inclusiv mașina în stare proastă și tot ce am folosit pentru a-l face să arate așa cum arată acum.

¡Hola! Quería probar UCCNC. Es mucho más sencillo de configurar que LinuxCNC. También quería tener una conexión ethernet entre la máquina y la PC y para linuxCNC tendría que comprar el controlador MESA que tampoco era barato. En este momento estoy bastante contento con UCCNC.
