Recorded in New York on May 19, 1933. Vocal (and trumpet) by Lew Sherwood. Sorry about the poor condition, but it's a favorite of mine.

I just looked. I have a pretty decent copy of this. Love the Duchin Victors and Lew Sherwood. Didn't know Durelle Alexander sang with him. Just adore her!

I should have mentioned that the flip side is also outstanding!

I agree - the condition is okay if the record is nice like this! Some people ruin their RU-vid posts with terrible over-processing. I'd rather hear the noise!

You're welcome, David. I enjoyed your excellent videos and recordings on your web site. It was great to hear the verse of "Let's Call It A Day"

This same number introduces the band's Vitaphone Melody Master, filmed in late 1933. See it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b5jQBMER3zs.html It's a bit peppier for the movie houses, where folks were in a mood to be entertained. The home listener then would have wanted something more lulling.

The music Eddie performed in that short was nothing short of *incredible!*

I'm trying not to filter out ANY of the music, if possible.

I'd rather listed to a recording in poor condition to one that is overprocessed and sounds like it's being played underwater. Is that a picture of Lew Sherwood?
