Our video about Saint Clodoald (Latin: C(h)lodoaldus, Cloudus; reconstructed Frankish: *Hlōdōwald; 522-c.560 AD), better known as Saint Cloud, was a Merovingian prince, grandson of Clovis I and son of Chlodomer, who preferred to renounce royalty and became a hermit and monk. He is venerated as a saint in both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.

I come from an American Pentecostal background and have turned away from its foolishness. I want more than anything to join the Orthodox Church, but find myself lost in a sea of confusion and helplessness. I feel there are none I can talk to about spiritual matters, but your videos have been both helpful and encouraging. Thank you for your work. Pray for me, brothers and sisters in Christ, that I find my way to His Church. Amen.

Hi Brother, I’m an american convert who came from a protestant background as well. I first learned about Orthodoxy from people on the internet. Some good resources, which I wish I had when I was first starting out, was a book called “Introducing the Orthodox Church”, by Fr. Anthony Coniaris and the Jordanville Prayer book. Both were good refuges for me when I couldn’t go to church, because I was too young to drive myself and my parents wouldn’t drive me. Another thing I’d do is email or call the Priest in the closest Orthodox church. You can find the closest church to you by using the resource on the “Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops” website in the Directory of Orthodox Christian Parishes. Putting yourself in contact with an Orthodox Priest is vital to learning about Orthodoxy early on. It’s infinitely more fruitful and beneficial than any other “internet orthodox” community you might find. I hope this helps. Praying for you.

Some Saints that would be cool to see videos about would be St. John Maximovitch, Saint Patrick, St. Sergius of Radonezh, Saint Martin of Tours, St. Benedict, St. Justin Martyr, Blessed Andrew the Fool for Christ and Blessed Augustine of Hippo.

He is... He is also a pre schism saint there for we (orthodox) also consider him a saint. When he lived the west hand not broken away.

Trisagion Films There needs to be some serious debate about officially moving the cut off to 1204, and recognizing most of those Western Saints who reposed during that 150 year period prior to the Sack as legitimate. The branch was badly cracked after 1054, but not yet broken. We have to distinguish between cracks and breaks more carefully.

wikipedia says Clovis converted to catholicism, not orthodox christianity.

Well, considering that Orthodoxy is also Catholic, Wikipedia would be correct. At the time, the Church of Rome had not schismed from New Rome(Constantinople) and the rest of the Church. So he probably was under the Church of Rome Jurisdictionally, but Rome was in communion with the rest of the Church, so he was Orthodox.

Prior to the schism, Christianity was one. Neither Orthodox nor Roman Catholic, as we know them since the unfortunate parting of the ways between Western and Eastern churches.
