Your right about the reels , rods , line and terminal tackle back then. I started fishing late 1969 . I rember when I got my frist Fu Ju gripped Boron rod 5 ‘ 6” with a Shimano Bantom 100 ( 1979-ish ) I thought I died and went to heaven. The one thing I think you missed was the gear ratios we had back then 4 to 1 maybe a high speed 5-1 - ish . With the hooks for worm fishing the old Tru - Turn was state of the art back then. Line I grew up on Stren and I still use it today. I took about a 20 year sabbatical from fishing. And when I got back into buying rods and reels . The rods produced today are so much better then anything we had back in the 1970s , 1980s and into the 1990s. But I will say it took a lot of getting use to the long handles on casting rods. I’ve always been a good caster and today with modern rods I amaze myself at casts , distance and accuracy I have today. Lures always loved Heddons and still fish alot 40 - 50 year old Heddons today . Really enjoy your show , it’s nice to get out of all the Doom & Gloom we see / hear about today. Things were much simpler back in the day. Thanks for taking time out of your day to make this video.

Really enjoy your channel, what an honor to share this with your kids and Granddaughter praise God. I really enjoyed you show as a young man and I am still nostalgic for the old ways although I used the three biggest game changers in fishing while I guided in Lousiana. Bottom finder (Lowrance) Power Pole (Shallow water anchor) and the game changing Spot Lock Trolling Motor (Minnkota) Nothing beats old school local knowledge area familiarization and understanding the conditions. I loved this show! I used to be obsessed with watching Orlando Wilson and Roland Martin ("Son!!") every week. It was very strange for a kid from Hawaii to be so in love with bass fishing, but nothing has changed, and I still love reading and watching. I am 100% against FFS! Ruining the magical sport/hobby. It's so sad.
As long as I don't see robot's taking our place I'm good. But until then. Once that time comes. Then I guess we will take it from the man. Now that is scary. All the work and success.
