Do you know that you could change a child’s life, and, not just her life, but her entire community as well? Yes, you can, through World Vision’s Sponsorship Programme, where you’ll be giving a child the choice to take hold of their future.
Noncedo, a 19-year-old Registered Child under World Vision’s Sponsorship Programme, understands that life is not about what you are given, but what you create. After dropping out of school when her parents lost their jobs during the pandemic, Noncedo understood that this was not the end of her life, she had to find another way of making a living.
The Stepping Stone sessions she was having with World Vision Eswatini’s CANGO News funded "Halting The Spread of HIV/AIDS" project helped her realize the importance of having goals set to achieve financial independency.
After these sessions, Noncedo’s big vision came to life -she joined a savings group, borrowed enough money to commence her salon business in September 2022!
SK Haircut is a business that she and her brother run, enabling them to provide enough basic needs for her family and her 2 year old.
“I have enough; the salon makes enough money, especially during school holidays. I can buy food and provide everything my child and family needs. I want to expand my business though, soon I will be also providing braiding services for my community”, she said.
You have outdone yourself Noncedo, we are so proud of you!
