Amen, we need more of that especially in the USA. It’s the opposite here where the majority of people on benefits ( welfare) don’t have any desire or intentions of doing better for themselves through hard work and saving. Why bother when you get handed everything for free and then work side gigs getting paid under the table and they don’t report the extra cash so they are doing better than alot of working folks. People lack pride in themselves. Its wonderful to see struggling folks do for themselves and even if they don’t have much at all they have pride

@frontlinersaudi8076 umm I would say that the one's in uk are much different then one's in the state's...no matter how they started with money most end up being lil snot's here...unless they are one's who started out alive in that struggle to know and remember how it was to have that struggle and now just be thankful they don't have the stress of not knowing where their next meals are...they are rare though...

Alex is among the best of the "rich kids." He's thoughtful and down to earth. His parents are lovely, but featured too briefly. Their luxurious home with the stuffed animals (sweet touch) shows the lack of snobbery - it screams cozy, fun and welcome! Antony and Jen are loving, hardworking parents who deserve respect and a better future. This episode came out in 2019. I hope the two families are still friends today.

I only just started watching these and your right on many point's, cause he doesn't seem over the top, nor does his house, for me its a bit closer to a middle income family type house with people who are down to earth who worked hard for their money and what they got to give to their kids...plus the family he spent time with seem's more like the one's these kids should be at and not one's only living in dumps on government funds...What floor's me is the one's who work only bringing home 1k a month, I mean I did that back in high school or first years out of school in the 80's... Now I would consider myself a bit spoiled, we lived in basic ghetto to richer type life, even after I moved out for my 2nd marriage was like that, but I have never stopped living how my mother taught me on getting the most out of your money...also my kids were given the same as I did, like buying first car and helping at other things, but taught to appreciate it and work as part of the family doing what things needed to get done to get these type of things...plus we were never one's on like bday's or xmas to just go out and buy a bunch of random crap so it looked like they had a lot but was stuff that lasted 5 mintues for kids, to me that was just throwing money in the trash....so we would get fewer things but be really thoughtful on the choice's for each kid to make sure it was something that could be useful in life (like a laptop) that they can use for many year's then maybe a few smaller things... Really liked the balance of the people in this episode, only thing I didn't get was the woman for breakfast taking 2 pieces of toast but gave the guest 1 piece who is a guy, who normally eat more...plus why didn't she get her parent's or other family member's take turn's in watching her kid and then maybe go to work herself so it can make things better for them...stop worrying about taking vacation's...even us with making 6 figure's who have rarely taken a vacation and with a family of 6 we have never gone together at same time either...plus if you look around there are ton of things you can do with your kids for free...

Especially when people who don’t have cold enough winters wear them like a statue item. 🤮 I live in Canada where during the winter the temperature drops down to -20c a few days during the winter. I don't mind Canada Goose coats even if some people like the status it gives them. The outerwear serves a practical purpose and they're quite fashionable. I think Birkin bags are overrated. Nice style, but not unique. It's a little over the top when people buy Birkin bags in every shade - they are the status seekers.

Having been poor my entire life I wept when I saw this. The contrast in this young man’s life to theirs was shocking. Giving them a bed frame and a holiday in Blackpool was a nice gesture, but I was hoping he might sell his excessively expensive watch and bag and give them the money so they could decorate their home, fill their pantry, buy some clothes, perhaps a bedside table and lamp and have a little left in savings in case of a need down the road. When the rich young man approached Jesus and asked him what more he could do to be able to get to heaven someday, Christ told him to sell all the excess he had and feed the poor and follow him. Unfortunately the sacrifice was too much because the young man had a lot and just couldn’t let go of it for the benefit of others. I’ve often wondered how his life went and now that he’s on the other side what he thinks now of the decision he made to walk away and keep everything.

it is not nice as Christians to use scripture to judge someone wrongly. he is privileged yes, but that doesn't mean he should give up what he loves and brings him joy just to please the family. I think he prioritized what they really needed.

I grew up poor, I at one point as an adult had only $20 for food per week… that was for only 3 months. I would never ask for charity, never! I’m sick and tired of people who expect others to pay for them. I expect families to look after their own, help family members with getting help, support for mental health, and work. I don’t think taxpayers should be paying for welfare.
@priscillavanessa5798
@priscillavanessa5798 12 дней назад
@annetoronto5474 do you feel the same way towards corporations who pay their workers poorly? I don't live in the Uk, I live in the US, a country that really don't give a crap about it's citizens, and for me if my taxpayer dollars must be spent, I prefer it go to those who have nothing as opposed to them going towards corporate welfare. Sure there are always going to be moochers that want don't want to work for their money but I think history has proven that it's the ones at the top that are the best at wanting to get paid for doing nothing, making millions while using public infrastructure, but crying poor when it comes to paying their fair share of taxes... and still expecting tax payers to give them a break because they bring jobs. Please, I don't think there is any shame in asking for help when it's needed but to ask for it when you have plenty like these corporations do, to pay so little for what is called unskilled labor is truly shameful in my eyes, I wonder how much profit would be made w/o "unskilled" labor, are you bothered when your tax dollars go towards helping out people who already have millions or do you save your disdain for "the poor"?

@@priscillavanessa5798 Corporate welfare has to end, here in Canada, Trudeau just “invested” 5 billion dollars for only 1000 jobs for Canadians and 1600 foreign workers. I understand how people feel that they deserve universal basic income when they see how much money is wasted on corporate welfare, foreign funding, and wars. We need to reduce taxes taken from citizens.
