I love how you described her ‘I have been thinking’…. My husband says the same. My ‘I have been thinking’ is often followed by his ‘how much time is this going to take me and how much will it cost?’ 😂😂😂
Making your own ladder to even get started on the proper project is insane. I have so much respect for people who can build stuff! And your husband has a cool sense of humor, too, his video about running the homestead in your absence was funny, haha.
If this world worked together even a little like your family does, it would be a much better place. Beautiful bedroom, hopefully it will be a great restful refuge for you when things get chaotic. Sorry to hear that you are having pest issues. I'm sure someone will have helpful advice for you.
"when things get chaotic" - look at the size of that family, with yet another one on the way, plus the work they do on the homestead... I'm exhausted just watching them! 😄
Haha… when I was a teen I would call my dad: “Hello” me: “soooo here’s the thing,” and he instantly knew he was coming to fix my car 😂😂😂. The bedroom looks like a beautiful oasis. And now I’m craving grapes.
What a great guy. He goes right into making your dream come true. What a guy. My ex would go into a fit when I asked him to build me something for my garden or home. And he was a great handyman too! He had the skills. He was just lazy and hated working. That’s why he’s an ex. I really envy others when I see men helping their spouse around the home or doing exactly what you’re doing. 👏🏼👏🏼 it’s so important to work with each other to achieve a mutual outcome…♥️
I agree. My ex couldn’t be bothered with our house. His mothers took presidency my husband will try. Is not always successful but he tries. God love him
Yes, Cam is a wonderful husband and father. Ans yes there are men in this world that need to step up. But I just couldn’t help but mention that it is much easier to be a great husband to an equally great wife. Not saying you or anyone else wasn’t a great wife, but as a woman I have come to find that when I feel like my man isn’t “holding up his end” I try to ask myself “Am I??” It’s easy to blame the other person and be the “victim “ or the person getting the short end of the stick without looking in to see the role we play. Once I started doing this, my relationships (not just romantic) changed for the better ❤
Loving how much Cam has been partaking in videos. It’s lovely to see the whole family and the way you all care for each other so much. It’s a beautiful thing to witness 😊
What a blessing to have a husband who helps you with your projects and tries to help fulfill your dreams. Its also great that you all work together (with the kids in tow too) and happily have another one coming! Im always amazed at all that you accomplish on your homestead.
Even though Cam tried valiantly to fill the void created during your absence, moms are very hard to replace. When YOU are the mom in question, it’s not possible. The master bedroom looks great with the added elements adding texture and interest. Kudos to you for the inspiration and kudos to Cam for making it a reality.
Just an idea but except for woody stems, why go through the hassle of chopping all the herbs prior to freeze drying because once dry you can crumble them in your hands or mixer. Love your husband's sense of humor! 😅
Congratulations on your family addition! How exciting to look forward to another blessing. Your bedroom is beautiful as are all those jars of salsa and dried herbs. Yay for you!
You need a pampered chef corn cutter. I wouldn't do without. Some people say they don't like them without giving them a second try. I have had mine for years and got a second for my girls.
@TheSeasonalHomestead I wish I could show you how to use it. Watch that you don't hurt the hand that's holding the cob with the sharp edges... And keep the handle closer to the cob, to slide across the cob and not tilting it foward to far. Working downward away from you. It takes the kernels off close to the cob, just how we like it.
A random question :what type of gloves do you use for cutting hot peppers? I use a different brand of gloves and I ending putting my hands in cold milk 😂. Please help 😅because I’m terrifying of cutting hot peppers again 😫…
Do you have a video on preserving only with a food dehydrator? I recently bought a small one off of Facebook marketplace and would love to get some ideas on what to do 😊
Omg the scene with Cam saying “Becky came to me and said ‘I’ve been thinking, Cam…’” I almost died laughing and then showed my partner-contractor of 12 years and he got a huge kick of out it, too! We are NOT ALONE!!! lol.
Hi Becky! I live in France and I don't know where to buy the pot in which you sterilize your pots, with the basket that allows you to hang them in... do you have a link to share to buy it somewhere? thank you for this beautiful video!
The bedroom turned out great! I have no idea how you keep up! I put up 6 jars of strawberry applesauce and then 17 jars of regular applesauce this week. I still have lots of apples to process off our tree. But that’s about all the produce my yard provided this year. Oh, I did get about a gallon or more almonds off our almond tree,
We have several type of fruit jams, but grape always gets use first! Cam and Becky, you make a great team and it's great to see the children helping in the garden and the house. God bless y'all and keep growing.
So excited to see a little one on the way! What do you do when pregnancy fatigue hits? Do you let the garden go and rest? Do preserving projects go on hold for a day or so? Do you delay laundry? What do you do when you don't want to push it? I just got into sourdough baking and I still have plenty of garden to harvest, but those days of fatigue really make me worried about letting it go.
Burning a couple of candles near where you are cutting onions helps so much to avoid the really bad burning in your eyes. I'm guessing it is burning off the volatile gasses coming off the onions. I have found it works best to keep the candles as near to the onions as you can. Hope it works for you as well as it does for me!
Got a handy suggestion for all that chives. You can make these Korean chive pancakes which is basically uses a ton of chives, a little bit of flour, and some water.
I saw another gal pull hers through one of the holes in a collander rather than stripping by hand (she did hers really quickly). Would that work for you?

I love how the bedroom turned out 👍 and man those herbs were impressive. Thanks for a fun video 😀 It's fun to see how the kids too pitch in when things needs to be done. Have a blessed week! BTW you baby-bump is so cute 😍
@@TheSeasonalHomestead Yes. Our study was that colour when I was studying for my GCSEs. There’s something about the colour that helps block out distractions. So peaceful.
