F40 came out in 87, the F50 came out in 95. The F50 wasn't out shadowed by the F40, it was out shadowed by the McLaren F1 which had come out the previous year in 94 with it's top speed of 241mph and three seats.
Ferrari is right with the V6, this engine is derived from the car that won twice at Le Mans and the 296 in less than 2 years of use in GTs already has more than 100 victories and hundreds of podiums! This car is going to be incredible.
Don't get me wrong it's a great engine, but the lack of a soulfull V12 is going to be very very very noticeable- and that's sad because a screaming V12 is an integral part of the identity of a high end ferrari .
You're probably right, but a last hurrah with a V12 would be more fitting of Ferrari. Regardless of the V6's success at Le Man I dont believe it would generate the kind of excitement a V12 would...at least a V8 worst case scenario should be considered.
Porsche should not make all electric hyper car the Rimac can’t sell these things they are incredibly fast looks good great just no soul no connection in my opinion. Congratulations on the yellow F-50. Love the channel.
Porsche won’t make an electric hypercar. Especially with Ferrari and McLaren making another hybrid hypercar. It doesn’t make sense for their halo car to be electric when they’re still producing ice 911s and SUVs.
Happy for you to get an allocation, can't wait to get more information about the car. I do think it will be a V12, hard to think V6 car can replace the glorious LaFerrari. We'll see :D Lovely to hear you will be racing in Imola on Finali Mondiali, me and my girlfriend are planning to come as well!
Congrats Louis. It's been speculated that the twin turbo V6 is an homage to the 2023 and 2024 Le Mans winning Ferrari 499P, their first wins since 1965, so thats the connection. I also think being a twin turbo you should match your spec to your blue twin turbo F40. That would be one of the most unique pairs of big 6 Ferrari's in the world.
One thing I just noticed which I love is that each of your “big” Ferrari collection is different colors and specs. Not following just red, or anything like that. I hope the next is another unique spec!
Congratulations on your allocation! I'm 49 years old and have owned 9 Porsches through the years and have always loved the brand. But, still to this day, whenever I hear the word "supercar," the first car to pop into my head is the F40. Though now, as I've gotten older, I think I would choose the 288 GTO if I was offered either one to own and drive until the day I die. The beauty of the GTO in person is absolutely mesmerizing.
I’ve heard that the new HP war will be high RPM wars, which in a lot of ways is more exciting than going from 1000 hp to 2000- the high RPM is a lot more useable
the 288 GTO was a proper racing developed ferrari... they made it for goup B but it didnt made it in time because group B ended around the same time the 288 came out...
Congratulations on getting an allocation! Really looking forward to seeing the new Ferrari on your channel in due course and getting regular updates in the run up to delivery day.
Really enjoy your channel. I feel like I’m looking at myself in 20 years. My first was a BRZ like your son, then a McLaren GT, now a Huracan Evo 610. Thanks for sharing your passion and 100% agree… please… no electrics.
Very new to your channel guys, but a great video, very good talker on cam and looking forward to Ferrari's new hypercar and glad you guys got an exclusive allocation. BRaavo!! 🤣👍😎🤘
Massive congratulations sir. Talk about a pinch me moment for you. If I had to choose between the sensible and the 288GTO it would be the 288GTO it’s what started it all and looks insane. Was my poster car along with the Mirua which was Lamborghinis first super car and some might contest with you the first true super car. Loving all the content and cannot wait for the next. Also really looking forward to see the F50 next to the Diablo. That will be my OMG moment. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
In this Hybrid era, I don't know if I am excited about upcoming hyper cars.....I'm old-school and traditional.... Maybe there is a reason why they brought out SP3 before this one.....
What an awesome way to take delivery! Marrying the two FOB half’s together. Also, congrats on scoring the F-50. Great to hear that the F-40 gets to spend time with its little brother!
You wouldn't say the first supercar is the countach or the miura? Personally I'd take a ferrari over a lambo in most cases but the countach came before the 288 and it's presence is undeniable.
Congratulations on the car but I couldn't help but stare at the Patek Nautilus on your wrist today. Is that the new denim strap reference? That's a dream of mine, and so is having a car collection like yours
Surly as a super limited edition....Ferrari don't have to look at sales? It's sold! They could do anything! Lamborgini have produced another V12...why not Ferrari? It's not like it's going to the masses....it's a few hundred lucky rich guys! If they go V6 it's because that's where the rest of their cars are headed IMHO
@@thegentlemansgarage_ listen im an oldschool guy. As far as i care ferrari died after the enzo. But i dont see how the sp3 daytona isnt on par with a la ferrari. I think it looks better actually. But its your money and channel and your playing there game.
@@New_Jax_CitySP3 is gorgeous and amazing. I’m not saying one is better than the other. I’m just sharing my first had knowledge as a top Ferrari colector in the world. Icona series cars are separate from Ferraris super cars. They aren’t meant to compete with one another. Icona cars are modern interpretations of Ferraris historical cars. The super cars are meant to set the standard for the best possible cars of its time.
Ferrari are shit nowdays. They had the best looking cars with 488, F8 and LaFerrari, then lost everything with the new cars (except the Daytona). The last SF90, 12Cilindri, 296GTB are the worst looking Ferraris ever even tho they're extremely good to drive. Hope they were inspired by some old Pininfarina designs with the news 250 and that it won't flop.
