Prior to her colon cancer diagnosis, Sherri noticed some symptoms like occasional rectal bleeding when going to the bathroom, which she assumed was just hemorrhoids.
It wasn't until a routine stool test as part of her stage 4 metastatic breast cancer workup detected traces of blood that further testing was done. Doctors then discovered a precancerous polyp and abnormality in her rectum and she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.
