I have been using Rock West for years and lots of random projects, they without a doubt have some of the nicest and most helpful staff I have worked with! Cool to see the manufacturing process.
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Vivaan Hector i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
This has been an interesting video. To know what goes on with certain rings and receiving the outcome of the said product in question really is enlightening. In short, this is a really cool video for anyone wanting to know how carbon fiber is made 😀 Now I know and now we know. So the more we know, thank you!
For those that don’t have a ring mandrel, I used to fit blanks on sockets. Then use electrical tape and tape above and below the ring with slightly thick wraps. This prevents the ring from sliding up or down. You’re then able to do what you need to. When finished, remove the tape and slide off your ring.
I subbed, although I am into traditional jewellery making, I really like what you are doing. I'm setting up a proper workshop in Scotland where my family home is. It isn't feasible to do casting and forging in my flat in London, so I will do my design and any wirework that doesn't involve annealing or torches in London and go up to my cabin which should be properly kitted out for casting and forging and enamelling every couple of weeks. I am really interested in the materials you're using and I am sure your rings would be really good sellers. I know a lot of ladies who would love them too. I will keep watching your very interesting videos and if I ever decide to try making a carbon fibre glow in the dark or meteor ring I will be in touch about getting the materials. I think these are really nice looking rings as are the others I've seen. I think you should be patenting your designs tbough and wearing breathing masks and safety glasses (I can't help the safety thing....my son got a molar removed (2 molars) because he needed a brace when he was around 13 and I caught the little bugger trying to drill his extracted tooth with the Dremel I gave him for Xmas that year. ...I came into the room just as the tooth fractured down the middle and nearly went through my head! He never touched any tools without safety gear after that...I was livid but relieved he was ok.
Great video and thanks for the heads up on the discounted carbon fiber kits :) Questions : 1.) What size hole saws did you use ? 2.) What ring sizes did they make ? 3.) How many rings can you realistically expect to get out of a 5"x 5" plate ? You told us the 2 rings sizes used one hole saw size difference between them but didn't mention the saw size or ring size them make :) Thanks for your generous consideration, Sincerely .............
Something I would like to add for those that would use a hand drill hole saw... maybe clamp the material on a 2x4 or any block of wood to help keep the center drill bit in one spot from the inner diameter to the external diameter
You can put a pvc pipe around your chuck on your drill then put the ring in the pvc pipe to finish the inside! Just tape the ring for the appropriate size
If you accidentally drill the big part first you could use some kind of glue or epoxy to hold it down while you drill out the center. Just use a piece of wood as a base and throw some masking tape on top then epoxy the ring to that. It wouldnt take much to clean it up after. Just separate the ring from the tape and since you'll be sanding it down anyway it should be fine unless I'm missing something. I've never done it but it makes sense in theory
You guys really need a flexible accordion exhaust fan tube to extend from an exhaust fan set into a blocked off window, to anchor at your workspace temporarily, in order to protect yourselves from a lot of these fine powders of inorganic materials which could setiously effect your health, even in tbe short term.
I wanted to know how I would go about making a hematite ring with crushed ruby powder in it or at least embedded in the top layer but flush with the hematite so there is a smooth even feel. It is for me and my wife's wedding rings Please and thank you.
So I made a ring out of a large bullet casing and I am looking for a coating on the inside so it does not turn my finger green. Any suggestions on what to use?
I always keep asking this but is it possible to to drill the carbon fiber the other way so that the rectangular pattern is on the face of the ring? If not maybe you can do some dip painting with a carbon fiber pattern in a carbon fiber ring.
Love your videos. Just one concern though, I understand that wearing your rings while working is a great advertising opportunity but its also extremely dangerous when working with tools such as the ones you're using, the rings can become caught on lathe chucks and mandrels very easily and your finger can very easily be taken right off
In your video, while drilling out the core and such, there is a sign in the background that has a RU-vid logo with the numbers 258415. It then changes to 258416 and then to 258417. What are those?
To make things a little out of the ordinary theres pen turning kits online, to make your own pen, im sure youre familiar with what im talking about. Anyay i thought you could do something pretty amazing with one of those, you seem to have alot of the equipment to do so. Im interested to see what you could come up with to use as a blank.
Tell me. What is the name of the instrument at 13.54 minutes? В идеале по русски конечно) как называется устройство для крепления кольца на 13.54 минуте?
Jonathan Figueroa 60fps only makes sense for gaming. We are most definitely looking into stepping up to 4k though. We don't currently have cameras that can shoot 4k.

So i figured out how to cut the inside dimension after cutting outside OD. Cut your out side then use construction grade hot glue onto ring to a peace of Corian. Then you can inside dimensions. Works on wood, stones, epoxys, carbon fibers, and steels. Good luck and love your ideas your the reason i make rings. epoxywood.simdif.com Or Denny Christensen lake goodwin wa on Facebook
