A visit to the New York Philharmonic Archives reveals that Rachmaninoff was not only a great pianist but a tough negotiator.
This week at the NY Phil, pianist Beatrice Rana performs Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The concerts also feature a new work by Katherine Balch inspired by the sounds of fireflies.
