This DLC would be enough for me if they add a raiding bandit group that will attack your villages from time to time and you have to defend it with the guards, availability in building wooden walls and building your own house and lastly, have story where Cumans or Mercenary group come to plunder your village and you would put a stop to their plans by gathering your soldiers from Pribyslavitz and meet them in the fields and destroy their encampment. In addition, I want the option to let Theresa move to Pribyslavitz and live there or better yet, marry her in the church that you built so that it would have a purpose!
Shadowfax is Gandalf’s horse in the Lord of the Rings books I like how most of the horses in KCD are named after mythical or fictional characters And Grosjean crashed again on Sunday lol
Totally agree. I did the DLC first with 300k. Finished it in no time & boring. 2nd play, I played poor & evil & way more fun. Now on my 3rd play as Mr. Poor Nice Guy. You need to play this DLC poor I think to get the most out of it. When given the Baliff position, your Liege Lord should take most of your wealth as a royal gift & send you off to town build. This is the best RPG I've played in 10 years IMO. They need to fix the bugs & optimise. Much respect from Australia 😎🇦🇺
@@abc4781 the guy is giving you a town, tax free, for 5 years. A position directly under a lord where you can make pure profit. I think taking some money ahead of time is well within his rights

I feel the same way Mack, I thought that there would be a lot more responsibility being bailiff of the village. I also feel like this should have been in the game after you kill Runt. It as if it's been cut out on purpose. However it's doesn't take away the fun as you rightly said about gathering the groschen. Going to the Sasau monastery and killing all the monks and guards is satisfying.
Realzi lol, that’s not how social economics works. The only jobs that illiterate immigrants take are the most abysmal, lowest paying, no skill jobs that no one wants to do. There’s not even nearly close to enough people doing those for any type of “French revolution to occur”, not a bad guess tho.
dazhibernian only 20% of the entire population of France are immigrants, and only 14% of Sweden are immigrants - with only 7% being born outside of Europe. What’s your point?
This DLC underlines the weakness of the original design. That is the complete detachment of the character from the circumstances and environment that were supposed to support his story and define his existence.
This is why I respect your reviews so much, Mack! Even with something you love, you always give an honest opinion. Cheers, to the most trustworthy guy on youtube!
I would have made a DLC around a tournament setting with knights and all thats attached to a medieval tourney. Jousting and Fighting, archery you could include so many things and have a nice little story to go along with it with its own progression system with rewards such as New armor new horses maybe some land and a house maybe a wench or two etc etc with good crowds of people cheering you on for atmosphere. And you will have different knights with different fighting styles and personalities. And you could maybe travel around the country to different tournaments like a circuit...... yeah but this crap is lazy and rubbish. Oh maybe have a complete hunting DLC you know really flesh it out. omg so many things they could have done i could totally go on.
I love how people tell Mack to keep his political opinions to himself... On a channel that is literally focused around hearing Mack's opinion.... No pleasing some people
"I love how people tell Mack to keep his political opinions to himself... On a channel that is literally focused around hearing Mack's opinion on gaming...." -there, fixed it for you. Hope it makes more sense now.
Rooster of course feedback is welcome. I was just surprised that so many people took offence or disliked Mack's opinion here. This channel has, for the most part, mocked Politically Correct ideology for years. And his political opinions are particularly evident in his Kingdom Come videos due to the surrounding debate regarding the political pressure which the developers have experienced. Mack is no lefty, an open secret really...
I only got it because I the 10 bucks on my card for Halo ODST but didn't realize I already had the game 😂otherwise I would have waited for an update. They have so much dialogue about all the cut content. They must be planning to add it in. Otherwise they are asshole for teasing us about it with all the dialogue
I found it to be awful. No quests no story just paying money for cutscenes. You don't even get your own house like it says on the steam page which is really misleading. You have to share it with a guard and a maid. There aren't even houses for the villagers. The base game is amazing but 10 bucks for this wasn't worth it. Only content in it is judging how far away people have to take a dump. Thought for sure I'd have to defend the town from a ton of bandits or some big conclusion but it was just as disappointing as the ending of the main game.
Rarefied to be fair the guard and maid are yours so why wouldn’t they stay in the same house... you essentially moaning about the game being lore correct
Mack even tho I'm a console player I really enjoy your videos and some of the reviews help me before I dish out loads of money for a game thanks for being honest in your reviews *ding*
I needed to correct you on something. The DLC adds 2 new shields, a new sword, a new bow, and new armor and clothing for horses. You just need to build the right things, and then know where to look. Great review other then that! :)
There is new shield, new sword and new bow in the DLC, and of course horses obtainable on ly when you build specific upgrades in the town. Its not like they added tons of new armor and weapons with the DLC, but turning it into "dressing simulator" with far too many equipment options would damage the realism. Also you are right, that it adds a lot of incentive while making new playthrough instead of burning tens of thousands of groschen you already had stacked up.
love hearing a familiar voice on youtube, much love from Ryton in Gateshead! not far from your fine self! loving the vids keep them up, the most informative unbiased reviews on youtube.
Worth a Buy is back! Awesome review. Exactly how I felt after playing it. We need more none-sense reviews like this. Straight to the point. Keep it up man.
Mack what do you think about hardcore mode? This was a free extension and it makes game much more challenging. I gonna buy this dlc first of all because I will support the developers and second I really, really love to just go around, walking in this beautiful scenery and with this dlc I can even change few things around me. That is nice 👍
@@WorthABuyreviews I'd love to see you do a playthrough of this or a few streams in hardcore mode. It means you have to learn the map because there's no fast travel. Planning journeys and planning days ahead what you're going to do makes the game so much more fun. No more fast travel from rattay to talmberg to do a single quest and then fast travel back for the tournament. You have to do things in bunches depending on where you are on the map. Plus, the worst bugs are pretty much solved now.
This DLC was so worth it to me.. It has added like 20 hours of gameplay time for me because I had stopped playing and when this game it got a fresh taste to it. I played out the main quest to get money but that was not enough so I had to to lots of Side quests also. And some side quests to get good NPC to the town as well. It really made me play the game a lot more and that is awesome! :)
KJ off I honestly think it's worth 5 bucks...we waited so long for this and for what...to pay more then we should for dlc that is a letdown...I love these devs but when does being nice not matter anymore when they are fucking us over?
Scarred Praetorian yeah sir divish keeps talking about plans "to expand the area" so get ready to pay another $13 just to build 6 more buildings lol. shit horse studios is their new name.
Once again I really respect you Mack for not letting left-wing bullies tell you what you can or can't say or how to think. That's what makes us individuals, not this ideological group-think that sticks their nose down at anyone who strays from the the accepted virtues.
He's Dutch. Love the channel,I subscribed( is it subbed or subeded can't recall) with the Metal Gears Survive review. Can't write about it, your review still cracks me the.... well you get the idea. Thanks for the content hope your finger is better. Oh yeah more rabbit!!
Good timing as I just started playing this YESTERDAY again after 2 months of downtime....did the grind of the Monastry mission. Gonna play for the next few days before jetting of to Langakowi to watch the World cup final (fingers crossed for England). This Easington lad gets around ;-)
Next time I'll probably start building the place, but never touch the rathouse or the church. I don't need my own alchemy bench or garden, and that is all you get from the rathouse. You get nothing from the church. Except a massive dent in your income. The church and rathouse make you zero money whatsoever. And actually finishing the village doesn't give you anything special other than an achievement. So to get the most out of your village money-wise, don't touch the rathouse or the church.
As somebody who bought KCD on your recommendation, I'm more than willing to slag them off myself because "doing better next time" was what the DLC was supposed to do. After I scaled the difficulty cliff high enough for the game to actually be playable, I was soon hit by the realization that a sizable chunk of the games features are half baked placeholders for a better game that never materialized. The Hunting, Cooking, and Alchemy are prime examples, none of those activities are really worth the time investment and their existence in the game was odd until I realized that the game was probably supposed to be a sandbox at some point, devs ran out of time/funding, decided to make a story-based game, but kept aforementioned mechanics in to fool rubes into thinking they're buying an open ended experience.
The DLC should be free. IMO the game wasn't finished, it was buggy, tons of impassable hedges, and aside from the combat and the main story; the game was pretty average, I really was expecting more from the sidequests, some village raids, maybe a few creepy quests in search of witches or cults or something, once your geared (which doesnt take long if you steal everything) the game really starts to drag on.
I agree. The 30 gigs of patches also comes with a price. It's called Data and game devs don't give a fuck how much it takes to fix their broken games on LAUNCH DAY !
>you need 80K groschen Are you KIDDING ME?! HOW?! I have like, 10K or so at most and my weapon and armor repairs cost a good grand from running around. The only way you could get that much is fleecing every major city in the game.
I'm playing on hardcore mode right now and making money isn't fun at all. It's a fucking grindfest and it's taking away from the game experience because this dlc butt rapes our wallets in this game. I'm running around with broken ass armor while trying to collect fucking 20,000 Groeschen
If you spoke to Bernie about the bandit camps, you get a ton of money from looting the arms and armor from each camp. Save the bandit and cuman ears and DON'T give them to Bernie. Some schmuck in Sasau will give you a ton for each ear. Once you've done all the bandit and human camps, you'll be filthy rich. Also, only sell to vendors that you have a high reputation score with. Try to max out one vendor (Miller Peshek or the Rattay Armoursmith). This way, you don't have to steal and can still play as the 'good guy'. I had 200k by the end of my first play though.
Seems like you've discovered your dark side in this game, Mac. Thanks for your continuous efforts to deliver entertaining reviews, much appreciated! As for the Groschen (pronounced gro-shen, don't roll the R. Czech term should be pronounced somewhat like "grosh"): The term originates somewhere in the money system of the HRE, I believe. It was commonly in use in German speaking countries for lower value coin money for a long time (until the Euro at least, now it's not so common anymore) and meaning and pronounciation should still be very similiar for Polish and Czech people.
They’ve hinted (via in-game dialogue) no less than four times that there will be an expansion to the village, so I’m sure they’ll be a free update with additional content
Speaking of bugs I got ambushed in the forest by some Cumans and when I unsheathed my sword and pulled down my visor the screen when grey. I tried to sheath and unsheathe again and the screen went grey again. Still managed to run away though!
Not enough content? Either people complain that there isn't enough content in DLC or they complain that things present in DLC should've been in the main game. I'd say that this DLC's problem was more in the bugs and the fact that it took away some of the realism that KCD presented: we have money, let's rebuild a church, it's rebuild in a few days... seriously? It took years, decades, sometimes even centuries before buildings like churches were build. Building few wooden houses is fine, although few days of building them still stretches it, but rebuilding church or improving ratthaus should have taken months or at least weeks. But I quess that if the DLC would take few weeks or months to complete, it wouldn't really fit into the game anymore(considering it's setting in the game).
They gave us Hardcore mode. I'm not complaining. The better part of what they've added is for free so honestly I don't see what you could complain about.
"make up for" "show their fanbase they care" Are you guys 'involved' with these publishers and studios. Their job is to make a product and maybe if you like the look of it you'll buy it. Kingdom Come like many RPGs is riddled with bugs but it was worth my 75$ (I live in Australia, new titles routinely cost 100$ or more.) far more than a 'polished' open world game like Horizon Zero Dawn. I'm glad they have continued to provide bug fixes as they had just prior to the launch of this DLC and hope they continue to. I'm not excusing bug riddled games, I prefer my games to be finished on release but for me this 'broken mess' was far more valuable to me than the alternatives. If it wasn't worth it for you I would have suggested you get a refund and buy something you like. These publishers and studios owe you nothing and you owe them nothing, this stupid mentality is only aiding in the complete domination of 'games as a service'. Let's treat games like products and hopefully we'll start getting good products on release again without all of the BS we've purchased being held for a king's ransom. Fuck Brand loyalty, buy what you goddamned like. If Warhorse release future DLC for this game look over it carefully as it is and ask yourself the simple questions "Do I want this, is it worth the price"...these are yes and no questions. These are not "Warhorse didn't prove to me they really cared for me" or "warhorse have earned my purchase". It's on the publishers and studios to develop and ship PRODUCTS we want to buy. They are not your friends
There are new weapons and armor but it depends what you build the guardhouse brings the best bow in the game and the armour Smith makes the best shield :)
Sad... I had a lot of fun in KCD, but I'm not getting this dlc. I don't like the Sims or whatever this is, never enjoyed Hearthfire in Skyrim. You'd think they at least had the decency to fix some shit in their game. Apparently dlcs are more important than bug fixing.
I feel like this dlc was a kind of here play the game abit more... i feel like what they are working hard on is the upcoming dlc's which will add waay more content.
I might've bought it for £2.99 but not £7.99. I've got a tonne of money in game and you confirmed my suspicions that it wouldn't be fun for people like me. I'd enjoy the building process for the first hour but that would be it.
I'm sure you're sick of battle royale, but Islands of Nyne nooks pretty decent. If combat can maintain the fluidity of that in the trailer. What are the chances for a review?
Honestly I probably won’t get this dlc because you have to be at a specific part of the story line for it to work. I know it doesn’t seem a lot, but Im kinda don’t want to go all the way back in the storyline for this dlc, cause I kinda feel it should be at the end or at least available after the siege there. Kinda worried about the other dlcs doing the same thing.
It would more fun if u can expand when u got all the objectives done bc in the cutscene were sir divish was impressed he said that he maby gonna expand the city
Absolutely love the videos you make, my kind of reviewer and you're original KCD review really struck a chord, but can you upload un-bleeped videos somewhere? Maybe a reward on patreon. Edit, I have just recently became a fan in the past few weeks but I'm wondering what does the bell ringing mean? Thanks mate
These devs guys are passionate about the game, but they dont have total control neither money time spent on the tech to master it to the point where theres nothing to say about it... Like RDR2. So its a diferent situation, witch isnt an excuse, gotta be aware of your ambition. But despite it all, its still a great game, and it has a lot of fun stuff you can do.
I'm guessing new town is filling the town gap on the map, where you get to places in the game where it is really far to a big town. Yes it is realistic, and adds scale, but it was annoying me a bit. So it's good it's a new town, but 80000, fuck me. How much can one earn on this town if it costs that much to build?
This is probably the first time I have ever disagreed with you. I mean yeah if your rich in game dlc is not for you but if your broke like the the bulk of us who play this game getting the money exploring the world again with a goal is definitely worth the money. I value my time for a game at $.50 an hour so if I buy a dlc and get 20 hours more gameplay it’s money well spent. Not to mention this game has massive replay value
Yeah but if I actually look at how much time I spent doping DLC stuff it would be about 40 minutes as that is how long it takes to buy a horse and build all them buildings and ride to secure the supplies and men. The rest of your time is spent in KCD vanilla so the actual DLC gives pretty much nothing. Now if they had done the town building properly it could have lasted hours, why was the town never attacked? why can't people come to you with problems and have you side with one over the other, why can't you punish people for crime in your town etc. It could and should have been a lot deeper than this.
I’m expecting more out of the next dlc but for a first dlc from a studio that literally has one game under there belt it’s not bad and who knows they may add in a village battle sequence later on as time progresses. Where this a massive developer I would prolly be of the same opinion. Still love your channel one of the only reviewers who speak the truth.
For me it’s hard to get into this game as it’s so slow. Quests are super long and your constantly needing to repair your stuff, bath, and eat. Your just constantly bogged down by things. I do like it just wish it rewarded my time more
Kinda underwhelming to be honest. While the whole idea of building a village from the ground up, it kinda hasn't been made properly. Being forced to choose between certain aspects of the town when both are necessary components is just nonsense. I shouldn't have to be give up either a stable or a bloody guardhouse. Same deal with a bakery or a butcher.... I feel like this was originally part of the game they took out since it wasnt finished and then branded it as a DLC to make an extra penny off it.
