From the Battlefield to the Bedside: Honoring VA Nurses Who Served in Combat 

A unique event celebrating VA nurses in May 2024 (Nurses Month) is the partnership with Freedom Sings USA and 10 VA nurses, who themselves are also combat Veterans of the U.S. military. For this partnership, award-winning, professional song writers were teamed with a VA nurse, to help tell their story through song. These stories, emanating from both military and VA nursing experiences, have resulted in exceptionally powerful testimony, and in almost all cases has resulted in significant emotional healing.
