G'day Van fam.
This week we leave the WA coast behind and start heading inland, finding ourselves in what we would call our most beautiful camp to date and exploring an incredible gorge.
Hope you enjoy this weeks ep and thanks for watching!

Great Vlog. Beautiful sunset & kids playing among the crabs. Kaylee & Owen in thier natural element. Unique experience. The walk & gorge were Gorgeous!! LOL. Good insight into the maintenance & fuel supply while travelling Australia! You sure do have to be ORGANIZED! KEEP ON LIVING YOUR DREAM❣️LUV MUM🥰

Love how you are showing the 'other side' of on road travel - the issues and problems we encounter, both due to things breaking and due to the large distances between services and towns. Mel, I can't remember, what type of work do you do? One other thing - Karajini National Park - no campfires allowed. Big No No fellow travellers and readers. If a campfire got out of control, they would not be able to control it. It would be devastating. Keep safe, guys.

We were camped outside of the N.P when we had fires, we also watch our fires, don't have them in windy conditions and put them out before bed. But that being said, the amount of times we see fires with people who have packed up and left but not put out their fire or having them on windy days in tinder box conditions is discusting... common sense isn't common unfortunately... Mel does admin and accounts work online. Glad to hear your enjoying our content, our goal is to share the real caravan lifestyle, not some hyped up, over exaggerated BS, so thanks for your feed back, we appreciate it.

Good call. Everyone thinks their fire is safe and the wood they collect isn't impacting the local fauna. Unfortunately, rules are there because of the privileged attitude of too many visitors to WA's remote locations. Respecting country starts by eliminating the attitude that your behaviour and actions are somehow better or special.

Hey guys, another enjoyable vlog! It’s so well produced and really interesting to watch, unlike some of the other rubbish of the same genre on RU-vid 😔 This vlog has it all…actioned packed with breathtaking, contrasting and inspirational landscapes, coupled with a nervous contest between fuel in the tank vs kilometres to the next fuel station!!! And it must’ve been a nerve racking experience Brett. I can’t believe how long that freight train was!!!! Well done and can’t wait for next weeks vlog 😀 stay safe and I hope you get starlink and the car fridge up and running again! And at least the chainsaw is still under warranty 👍 all the best Corrie

Hey Guys. Another great vlog. I don`t have your positive opinion when it came to low fuel. I carry an extra 20 litres, on the van, as the potential walk and priming the fuel system, does nothing for me. However the day walk in the pristine part of the country is breathtaking. Your adventures continue to motivate me to get away further and for longer. Be safe.

Enjoy, Karajini is amazing for free camps. Another one I would recommend is buddha's rest which is only 5km or so from Hammersley George. So you can spend the day in the gorge and then watch sunset over the range from camp. Also a top spot :).

Most of those trains have 3 engines at front (RTIO) or 4 engines 2 at front and 2 in middle (BHP) and around 235 cars, so they do take a while to pass 🙂 When staying around Hedland it is best to stay approx. 5km out of town as unfortunately it can get a bit dicey with thefts from caravan parks. It appears that most IGA shops also do soda stream. Great looking free camp, there is another free camp Mount Robinson, approx. 72km towards Newman from there that is also very good. There are a few mining camps (RTIO and BHP) around Albert Tognilini so you may have found 4G Telstra signal if you have a MIMO antenna system.

Thanks for the tips. We were surprised to find some telstra signal in some of those free camps. We stayed at the turf club in town and it was fine, though they had alot of rules. Can't complain though when it's free.

Hi guys, thanks for sharing this week's vlog. You showed some awesome camps and Karijini was very impressive! 😮 Loved the drone footage around the two camps, spectacular! Glad the fuel (or lack of) worked out 😊 Hopefully the starlink issue has been sorted, not good when you rely on it for work. See you next week, take care and safe travels ❤

Thanks Lyn, that was the scariest fuel contest we have ever had. It's because a cyclone wiped out Pardoo roadhouse and it's not been fixed up. We should of stopped at the road house and shown the damage and explained but we were to busy stressing about it all haha. Those 2 camps were some of the prettiest we have had. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Once you hit the 0 on distance to empty you usually have another 50-100km or so left in the tank, at least I did with a Prado. Not that I would recommend trying it 😄😄

Thanks for the blog ❤.. when you free camp I noticed you did not unhitch for 1 night so you use stabilising legs and jockey wheel ? Keen to learn as doing this soon. What a great adventure thank you.
@SvedosTrippin
@SvedosTrippin 10 месяцев назад
Hey mate, if we are just staying for a night I will just put the jockey wheel in and lift it a little bit just to take the weight off the suspension in the car. I don't even bother with stableizer legs for an overnighter, I don't find our van rocks around too much.
