Kita no Kuni Kara” is a story about Jun (Yoshioka) and Hotaru (Nakajima) Kuroita who move to the town of Furano from Tokyo with their father, Goro (Tanaka) after his divorce from their mother Reiko (Ishida). Reiko’s sister, Yukiko (Takeshita) moves in with them as well. The drama follows this family as they learn to survive in Hokkaido.
