Langdon has seriously put this gun on the radar of a lot of people. I’ve looked into them a bunch of times. The looks are a killer for me. Even though I’m growing to like they more.
Mine shoots fine with zero stoppages of any kind. I find it a little slippery and I don’t just mean the grips I mean everything which is a good thing and a bad thing.
My PX4 is 10 years old with me. Possibly 8000 to 9000 rounds never a malfunction I like DA/SA, the rounded design and the quality beretta PX4 great gun ❤❤❤
I have had my full size for several years now as well. I got it online when the prices online were still much lower than in the store. I got it for $400 with factory night sights. That is just over half the list price. I did put the D-spring in (as I did with my M9). I have the "stealth G levers", but I haven't installed them yet. I find the gun to be really nice and reliable. I run a compact light on it and found an IWB leather holster from Urban Carry that works well. I have a total of six factory 17-round mags. I always want to have six factory mags for all my guns. It is a good thing, too. My state just passed a law limiting handguns to 15-rounds. At least they let us keep our existing higher capacity mags. I think the looks are cool. Compare with a Glock. What? I am also more comfortable carrying DA/SA and have no problem with the trigger. I see lots of people talking the same way. Even Jim Reeves is carrying a LTT version of the Compact. I plan to get the Compact and may get the Compact Carry 2 which has the LTT treatment but is more expensive. Still not decided though. I have no issues with my stock full size.
This pistol has been on the top of my wish list for a while, I've been wanting to add to the collection a DA/SA pistol and a Beretta (that I can EDC) for a while so this one checks both boxes. I am surprised to hear that you had those 4 malfunctions in the 1st 2 magazines, I can't count how many reviews I have watched and read about this gun and 99% of them have said that it has run flawlessly with thousands of rounds through it. Thank you for the video, keep us updated on how it works out!!!
I’ve had the full-size 9mm model for over 10 years and love it. It’s a very soft shooting 9mm. I think it’s a great looking gun and don’t understand why people say it’s ugly. To each, his own.
Being primarily a revolver guy, from a safety standpoint the DA/SA is what appeals to me on this model. I've been looking at them for a while but haven't 'pulled the trigger' yet.
These really are great pistols and they're definitely Southpaw friendly for me & all the other wrong handed shooters. But you're right, alot of people don't seem to know or care about them. I'd like to see Beretta refresh/sexy it up w/an aluminum frame, replaceable G10 grips, and maybe an optics cut. 👍👍
I’ve been thinking about getting a px4 for a long time. Love your perspective as always on carry guns. I have been thinking of adding a Da/Sa gun to my inventory for training. I have revolvers and M&P pistols.
I’ve always carried a Glock , picked up a PX4 full-size 40 which is now my EDC , the beretta gives me options that I can’t get in a striker fire handgun……. Plus how can you beat 17 rounds of 40😊
The base PX4 is pretty good shooting. The LTT stuff, yeah it makes it pricey, but *whew boy* do you get what you pay for. thing shoots like an absolute dream.
Good info, thx. I had numerous FTF on my new PX4 Carry 2 as well. I looked up the FTF issues and there due to the packing lube. Its recommended to thoroughly clean and lube the barrel and slide with grease out of the box.
Same as you thought it seemed weird initially but now they seem amazing! LTT modding these really made me interested in them. I also like hammer da/sa pistols so it is that much more interesting to me. The rotating barrel instead of the browning tilt mechanism is interesting.
I had mine since 2008. Low recoil and accurate. The compact is well balanced, while the full sized is more nose heavy. It looks better than the square Glock.
I owned a couple of PX-4 Storm pistols. Good guns, but weren't exactly what I was looking for at the time. My favorite was the compact .45 over the subcompact 9. If I were to get another, it would be the .45.
I saw one other person mention it already, but you should look into Ernest Langdon’s services for PX4 Storm. I was in the same boat as you when these came out. Couldn’t care less. But Ernest has made these very popular in the last few years for good reason!
I have heard from a couple of sources that this pistol is popular among a variety of European law enforcement agencies which is why Beretta still offers it despite civilian (American) indifference.
😆 "Mr Potato Head gun" Thanks for acknowledging its weird looks. It's just too bulbous bloated. Im sure functionally it has merits and i can even appreciate and respect all that. 👏🏼🤟🏼🕺🤠
