In one of the craziest overs in the tournament's history, the Stars took five Scorchers wickets in a single over in BBL|01, thanks to some quality bowling by James Faulkner and keeping by Matthew Wade
@@vasanthk9901 James Faulkner was a better finisher and match winner in comparison to Marcus Stoinis..... Faulkner plays to win matches for his team while Stoinis plays for fun only.... Faulkner lost his spot because Australian team was struggling after 2016 and Faulkner, the bowler was out of form...
James Faulkner was man of the match in the 2015 World Cup final. It's such a shame that he's now lost some of his powers and is currently out of contention.
They always give man of the match to the wrong person. Not saying James Faulkner is bad but Mitch Johnson was so much better in that match than him. They did the same in the 2011 world cup. giving it to Dhoni and not Gambhir.
How good was Faulkner 😍? Not only with the ball but with the bat whenever team was in problem used to deliver. Not just slogger of a ball but genuine hitter who would try to get the game as deep as he can and also maintain with the required run rate. Loved the way he used to finish matches for Australia during 13/14 and 15. Nowadays apart from Buttler, everyone seems to be just slogger or hitter without much game awareness. Hope Maxi gets to his best form and starts delivering just like he did against England in the last ODI.
Of the two runs scored, one is LB and another is by overthrow. So, other than the catch of first ball not a single ball was hit with the bat by any of the five batsmen. That's truly incredible!!! Perhaps never happened in Cricket history!!
That 50 odd ball ton and a century partnership for the ninth wicket with Clint Mckay vs India chasing 380. How many of you remember that game and series?(Faulkner also hit Ishant Sharma for 30 runs in an over when Aus required 43 off 3 in the same series). That was one of the best innings in ODI history though it came for a lossing cause. Damn the two best performers of that series, Faulkner and George Bailey, are a shadow of their former selves now.
@@suggestmeone847 Arguable based on what stats you're using for comparison. If it is head to head or Big match games, India aren't. But certainly they rose to a greater level than their pathetic previous self under a true LEGEND named MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI.
Good on 'em for coming back for the suicide second on the last ball. There was absolutely nothing to lose. I always get frustrated when batsmen decline to take the risk on the last ball of the innings -- if you can't make a boundary, you should be running until you're out, or at least until it's so impossible that the selfish motivation of maintaining your batting average counts for more than another possible run for your team. (E.g. maybe if the keeper has the ball in his hands, hovering over the bails, it might be justified to not try for a run. Anything less, RUN).
Melbourne stars were great but they fail to quality each and every time😰😰😰😰. Maxwell is guiding now to victory as in 2 seasons 2 finale(After he become captain). Thanks to Glenn James Maxwell. Surely he will be Ricky Ponting(in captainship) and Dhoni(in finishing)for cricket Australia 💚💛💚💛💚💛
