I know this comment is really late, but you are so correct. Francine was attracted to Lee, but he just didn't have all the right ingredients for her (ostentatious lifestyle that she covets). However, she was jealous that he would be attracted to a woman like Amanda (everyday housewife and mother). Amanda touched something in him from the first moment he grabbed her at the train station.

Thank you actually when Brooke asked me to do it, I really thought this video has already been done? So, while I trying to find a theme I was like duh, let's just use the big moments like from the time they met that Lee became part of Amanda's family. I wasn't sure if fans would understand it, so I'm glad you did. I'm the first one to blame the producers really the writers, but in SMK case it is really not their fault they moved the story at the perfect pace, they just didn't plan on Kate's cancer. But, they should have rebooted the show when she felt better. I know I love, love the Dr Queen, love how Sully respected Michaela and was a father to her kids from day 1.

Roslyn Belton, Yes I to loved Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman but in that case that was the plan going in that they were going to be together. Even though Jane and Joe were not talking to each other after they were picked up. Since Jane and Joe started up a love a fair while taping the pilot that ended badly. They when they were picked up for at least 1 season they knew they had to come back to tape that season knowing their characters were to become a couple. Hard to believe especially after seeing how steamy their characters we're after the filming of the pilot episode. Good thing they wanted the show to be picked up for more than one season and had to drop their hatred for each other when they were in front of the camera. That is if they wanted to be on for more than 1 season. But when they weren't in front of the camera they could go on not talking to each other. That's how good of actors Jane and Joe are because as you hear them tell it they hated each other and didn't talk to each other most of the taping of that show. That was until towards the end of taping when they started to be friends again. But in Lee and Amanda’s case as Bruce puts it their characters weren't meant to fall in love. That was until views said that's what they wanted and they kept on writing to the show until they got what they wanted. Also good thing that Kate’s production company was producing SMK with her being one of the executive producers and she was all in on making them a couple. Hard to believe it was that way that they were only suppose to spy together. But since the characters were already set up the way they were Amanda the loving mother that would do anything for her boys and also her mother. While Lee was a loaner that didn't work with a partner until Amanda came into his life. Because of the way he was raised by his uncle The Colonel he didn't know family life wasn't a 4 letter bad word. But with him starting to have Amanda in all of his life, not just the work part he had to let Amanda show him he could be less than a womanizer and be with just 1 woman if she was the right woman and she was that woman. So she had to first show him to be less closed off to having a love them and leave them kind of man and find that forever man for some lucky woman. Cause being with a forever woman in his life he could take on everything in including being a family man. She was hoping he would want that woman to be her. So at the beginning that had enough on their plates trying to work partners. That Lee first had to decide for himself who his forever partner could be. So Lee first had decid he could work with a partner he could spy together with and Amanda was that work partner. Once they both he had to figure out they were meant to be together. They both in denial for the first couple of seasons. Because she was the older women with baggage that wasn't going to go away. While he was the younger loaner spy that didn't work well with others and didn't want a family. Cause the way he grew up without a family other than an uncle that raised him like he was one of his air force cadets, not a going boy. By the time they finally got them into a relationship in season 4 Kate Jackson found out she had breast cancer. To finish off season 4 Kate had to keep her diagnosis under wraps only her and the producer knew she had breast cancer and had to have a lumpectomy January of the 4th season. It was a good thing that Bruce Boxleitner got the flu when he did or Kate wouldn’t have been able to go back to sleep after being called telling her taping that day had been canceled. She wouldn't have awoken to her telling herself she had to go get a mammogram. Because if word got out Kate Jackson had breast cancer the set would have been shut down since they would have lost their insurance that was needed to keep the show going. They were supposed to go on longer than 4 seasons but after Kate having to have radiation treatments every day for the rest of the season. Kate wasn't strong enough to do the physical part of her character thank kate was noted for. The viewers let it be known that they wanted Lee and Amanda working together and not Lee and Francine. Since SMK was back in the day where we didn’t have TMZ it was easy for Kate to keep her diagnoses a secret. But that also meant she had to go through her breast cancer totally alone she couldn't tell anyone other than the producer of the show so he could schedule Kate a week off the show so she could have her lumpectomy. How would you like to go through all of that alone but that's how much Kate loved being Amanda King and did anything the had to to keep that show on the air and let the Lee and Amanda love story to continue.

@ Theresa, I enjoyed reading your comments regarding these two popular series.I didn’t really watched them often when they were in production. I purchased the series dvds for SMK last year and DR.Quinn two months ago. I have been watching both sets intensely. Both had exhibit uncanny chemistry between the lead characters. Regarding Dr.Queen, the emotional presentation of chemistry between Jane and Joe as characters literally jumps of the screen and on to the viewer. I understand that they had a love affair and had a unsettling breakup before the series was actually picked and they both honored their contracts and did the performances as actors. Call me cynical but I take issues with them putting their feelings aside on a daily basis and only relating to each other as their characters for six years. As emotional human beings, how can you passionately perform with the realism of holding each other, kisses where mouths are very familiar, having your toes rubbed , sucked and kissed and fingers having the same done to them. When Jane’s husband didn’t direct an episode ,the scenes were even more intense. In the Abductors during the honey eating scene,she actually looked like she was confused and having an outer body experience. The same for honeymoon scene in the train when she was actually pregnant.I just believe that true feelings were caught on screen. I also wonder about the chemistry between Kate and Bruce because he was actually going through a divorce during season four.Could there have been a relationship with Kate had she not been attacked by cancer? Roslyn Belton, I don’t know if Kate and Bruce would have gotten together if the series went on and Kate had not gotten cancer. But watching the last few episodes there was a different relationship between the two of them with Kate and Bruce on screen. Probably because Kate not feeling good and how she had to keep to herself so her diagnosis wouldn't come out. Back then even a a hint of Kate having cancer would have shut down SMK before all 22 episodes were in the can. Also with Bruce going through his divorce probably didn't help much either. But when it was coming out that their characters were more than just partner. When they first got their makeup on and until it came off at night their 12 to 15 hour days Kate and Bruce were Lee and Amanda the whole time. They never really left each other's sides but if they did they always left each other with a kiss and that they would see each other soon. I don't think it was ever taken offset but I wasn't there. Maybe if Kate hadn't gotten sick and after Bruce’s divorce was finalized it would have been nice to see them get together since the made a great couple. But looking at interviews done with fans and other ways. Kate and Bruce has never seen each other since the end of SMK and only an occasional phone call but those lasted a long time as Bruce has mentioned. I think what Kate had gone through all alone with that first bought with breast cancer all alone. Was really hard on Kate good thing she didn't have to go through the second time alone a little over a year later. Because she was allowed to tell her best friend Jaclyn Smith gave up either a project or vacation time to be at her side when she had to have a partial mastectomy because they didn't get it all the first time. Kate hasn't been in front of the camera that much since except for a few lifetime movies. One where she went from set to the ER right into open-heart surgery to handle a hole in her heart she had since birth that went undiagnosed till that time. But since her health has been great. We do need to get a reboot of SMK. Where we find Lee and Amanda more in love than ever before and still working for The Agency. Lee took over Billy's job when he had to leave it when he got his Alzheimers diagnosis. Amanda took over Dr. Smyth’s job after The Agency put her back through college so she could get her doctorate in psychology needed to take over that job at Dr. Smyth’s urging. He saw only one person he was willing to give up his job to and it was that King-Stetson woman. He stayed at the helm of The Agency while she went back to college and trained her to be only the 4th head of The Agency but the first woman in that role. Francine is still there to as the head of the interrogation. She also married someone from The Agency Efram Beaman. They had been girls conceived during that little snowstorm that turned into a blizzard that last Christmas we last saw them. Good thing Amanda forced Lee to pack an overnight bag cause she wanted to show him what all his other Christmas’ were going to be like once they were married. Since Joe the ex was snowed in to Amanda's mother with the help of her sister (a recent former nun). They made Joe sleep on the couch so he could make sure the boys didn't start Christmas before the rest of the adults were up. While Lee got to stay in Amanda's room with her. The boys slept in Jamie's room in his bunk beds and Aunt Lillian stayed in Philip’s room and Dotty, of course, stayed in her own roon. Aunt Lillian really love Lee and hoped her niece would marry him ASAP!
