Toyota has lost me. And for a long while, that is all I would own. Still have a 2004 Tacoma that will never die, keeping it. Also have a 2018 RAV4 that was made in Japan, keeping it for sure. Only one I would buy nowadays is the 2024 4Runner before they ruin it next year. I will be in the market for a new mid-size in a year or so. Nissan Frontier is the frontrunner for now.

Frontier is a solid truck. Couple things I don’t like is the rear seat. It’s waay too upright. Fuel economy is crap, no rear a/c vents, and the turning radius is also bad. Other than that, it’s probably the best choice for long-term ownership.

It is interesting that for a company that’s dragged its feet on the shift to EVs, Toyota’s ICE and hybrid offerings have become so stagnant in both engineering and style. The mpg on their trucks in particular has not changed, while other full size trucks have gotten better and better. The Tacoma’s mpg is especially disappointing given that it remains an underpowered 6 cyl. I got my Taco fix and now I’m done.

As soon as Toyota became the #1 car maker they started to have the problems of a #1 car maker. Now years have gone by and the problems persist. I was looking at a Corolla Hybrid but, after watching two youtubers review on it's gas mileage, I'm turned off on them. They advertise 50mpg but both said they were getting around 37mpg.

I got 21mpg in the city in my 2021 Corolla. 39hwy which was great but I lived in the city ha. Traded it for a Ford Maverick Hybrid. Big improvement.

I bought the last 24 Camry XSE v6 despite technical aspects being subpar because I don't want all my cars to just be hybrid...some people want to feel a little alive while they're driving and the 2GR-FKS called my name. I agree the RAV4 is "adequate" and value wise I think is very good in hybrid form---I have one of those as well for most of my daily driving. Thinking about 4Runner before they turn into a pumpkin next year, but I can't get over the high prices and although the "old school" is part of its charm, it's also giving me pause...do I want to sink in 60k for aTRD Pro that literally looks its age? All I know is that will look cheap when the new kid shows up. Most middle class americans will be priced out. The MPG would force me to make this an occasional driver. In general, as a historical Toyota loyalist, I feel like my back is against the wall. As a consumer, I love options...and they're really giving me none with this TNGA design. They all look the same now. Homogenous parts make it cheaper to make...but each vehicle loses its soul and what makes it unique.

I don't like is even though they down size their engines to turbo i4 engines , v6 turbo and hybrid vehicles, their cars still cost a lot to buy. and worse they recently got caught cheating... Again on their car crash safety test. Toyota is no longer the TOYOTA it once was😢

I'm with him. I had a 2018 Camry, and the sheet metal was made of paper mache. That car soaked up dents from strong winds, let alone rock chips. I switched to a 2019 Tacoma, and the gas mileage was terrible, but the interior space was even worse. The backseats were pointless, and the front sat terribly after a knee injury... I still have the F-150 (2.7L) I traded it in for in 2020, but the car swap days are at an end for me with these awful prices.
@revnation_auto

That blows man. My wife has a 2012 Camry that I thought was a 2004 the first time I road in it. Such a turd that looked like it had been in a few tornados. F-150 is a good truck overall. There’s a reason it sells the way it does.

Finally someone has said what I have been thinking, I have a Toyota Corolla and the car is falling apart. Toyota has lost there way just like the other automakers. It seems that all of the automakers are just content with big SUVS and trucks that are really not that great. Plus prices are ridiculous on this junk….

Highlander Limited 2024 . Excellent infotainment system. Limited 2.4 Turbo is quiet. A comfortable all around vehicle that doesn’t excel at anything but does everything well. My previous three cars. Venza 2021 Hybrid. No more hybrids for me. No interior space at all. 2017 Ford Fusion Platinum. A great car but my wife had access in/out problems. Her therapist recommended a crossover or a van. 2013 Acura TSX. Everything worked but a very bland car with a terrible infotainment system, and too low.

I traded my 2021 4Runner TRDORP for a 24 Subaru Outback Onyx XT. The 4Runner is awesome but too much of a gas hog. Who cares if it will need minimal repairs and will last forever? I can't afford $85 a week for fuel for the next 20 years. My Outback gets 31MPG highway and I couldn't be happier.

We traded our 2022 4Runner for a 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid. We are averaging 37.8mpg overall. I do miss the road presence and the cargo area in the 4Runner but not 16-17mpg. It’s just not worth it unless you drive like 4,000 miles a year. Or if you’re living in it haha

My new 2020 Camry turned me from a Toyota lover in to a hater. It was the biggest piece of junk I ever had and Toyota wouldn't, or couldn't, its problems. I sold it before its second oil change. I'm still holding out hope Toyota will return to the good old days of quality.
