This is all very smart, convenient and futuristic still, nice that evolution finally follows my thoughts since many years :-) HOWEVER - from WHERE do you imagine the power should be supplied? Nearby Solar parks? Or from the major heating in the asphalt itself? These source costs may naturally differ from different regions in the world depending on lattitude climate ?
i have aquestion if anyone can answer. WHile on the go wireless battery charging. Can an EV be driven over the same battery under charginng? Or there are two sets of batteirs, oncharging and other is driving the EV? Or the charging track drives both battery charger and EV by its self?
We go to the other side of the world to get oil , I am sure it is way cheaper to put in the road charging systems and up grading our grid will be cheaper in the long run. Besides the clear air in big cities and clean water less carbon fall out while increasing renewable energy . Improving grid infrastructure gets improved and up graded over time . More green energy jobs nationwide.we need options in clean energy.
People will eventually demand this in their home chargers and most on the road chargers as soon as the technology is ready can be put in many more places like car ports and individual parking spaces in lots and garages.
You cannot afford wireless charging, because is going to be financially expensive, not reliable - subject of wear and tear, difficult to implement without faults. You can afford cable charging, which is going to be reliable and financially not expensive.
"Not even possible with current technology"!?! Almost all traffic lights in Canada use induction coils to activate the lights. You can modify existing road construction equipment to make the same round grooves literally overnight, with very little cost. It's just a matter of propaganda like this trying to keep the technology away, same way they did to the electric car.
