Hah, I live in Camden. We have roots in Nova Scotia as well. I'll have to think about that tie. I would also caution that a lot of the towns along the coast of Maine look exactly the same...just "Main St. USA" towns, or like a Norman Rockwell painting. The nearest sizable hospital is probably in Bangor (or one with multiple levels), which is where a lot of Stephen King's stuff is based on. There is also a St. Anthony's hospital in northern Newfoundland.

@@gelasticseizure Did you ever watch the show Once Upon a Time , it was ABC show but based on Disney characters or fairytale. the people were transported to our world in Maine, in town they called "Storybrooke" there is a kid in the town that wants to wake up people to who they really are ...I cant help but think that OUAT might have elements of FROM. Jim was major character on OUAT so it might just be a wink and nod his previous show window imag of the town looks like storybook with town with square with clocktower with white peak . I think that Stephen King was an influence for both shows and sometimes I get Under the Dome vibes , I enjoy stephen King but his books sometimes are not adapted well and he also has way of making horror just exist without giving much reasoning or mythos. Same with people being psychic they just are and then they can understand things others dont see but are often taken as othered like Sara everyone focus on her violence , but not why she was even killing to begin with the voices. I know we cannot just expect Jim famiy to forgive Sara but she should have spoken before acting but knowing this town would they have believed her ? After her actions people still showed her scorn , particullarly Paula and Reggie who supposed just came on Bus. but were okay to judge Sara

BRO this is literally one of the best analysis of the show that I have seen. This is a true mystery series as the writers have done a great job of staying away from Any cliche's whatsoever and also revealing very little info, which just makes this even more intriguing. It is like solving a real world mystery, which actually has an end (we'll get our answers in coming seasons for sure)!! Coming to your analysis - Rescuing your inner child, didn't sound as convincing to me in the first hearing, but my god its a great way to look at it. The greatest writers, always give an ending, not just for the sake of it, but which has a real and relatable meaning for everyone watching so that anyone can connect to it. and this is something I can surely see them doing. Of all the points you mentioned, one of the mind blow was that Tabatha was killed by falling by being pushed by a child, when her trauma related to her child falling and dying. Overall, just great JOB with the theories and compiling them together in such an entertaining way. As someone who loved the series, I Really appreciate it :)

The reason the monsters know the towns people's names is tied to the numbers 4 and 7. Let me explain. When Trudy begins to panic and Jasmine calls her by first name, and when questioned “how do you know my name,” Jasmine declares “we know all your names.” In Fromville, certain names and numbers such as 4 and 7 play a much more significant role than even the most astute observer may notice, especially when you add 4 plus 7 which equals 11 and apply the number 11 to the names of the characters in the show. Individually, the numbers 4 and 7 seem to have significant meaning and they appear quite often when they are combined as the number 47 or conversely the number 74. However, it is my opinion that when added together, the true meaning of the numbers 4 and 7 comes to light as the number 11. The number 11 has a very significant role in numerology and I posit that the writers of From have incorporated the number 11 into every major (and some minor) characters and plot lines in order surreptitiously reveal which characters will eventually die and which will survive. In other words, who lives and who dies is hidden in plain sight and it all depends on the number 11. In season two, Boyd is talking to Donna in the green house and he tells her a story of when he was in Iraq and he watched “Brian Kelly” die in his arms after driving over an IED. Boyd recalled this story after witnessing one of the new arrivals named “Kelly” die in the woods after she tells Boyd she had just been forced to watch her boyfriend named “Brian” be ripped apart by the monsters. The synchronicity between the two events separated by years could not be by chance. At this point, I realized there might be a connection between the characters’ names and other symbols on the show and I discovered the connection was the number 11. The monsters know everyone’s full name and as I will demonstrate, ALL of the major and minor characters who have 11 letters in their name have died or will die. Below is a list of every major and minor character with 11 letters in their name. In total, there are 12 characters with exactly 11 letters in their names and this cannot possibly be serendipitous. How many shows with an ensemble cast have 12 characters with the exact number of letters in their names? Not only have the writers deliberately left off certain characters’ last names (eg Victor, Randall, Marielle, Trudy), I believe the writers intentionally gave other characters first and last names that total 11 letters as a “Scarlet Letter.” All of the characters below have 11 letters in their names and those in red caps are dead. It is my belief that the remaining characters on the list will be targeted and will eventually die in future episodes and seasons: Donna Raines is 11 letters = 4 plus 7 Boyd Stevens is 11 letters = 4 plus 7 ABBY STEVENS IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 RUDRA KHATRI IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 Jim Matthews is 11 letters = 4 plus 7 Jade Herrera is 11 letters = 4 plus 7 Tian-Chen Liu is 11 letters = 4 plus 7 MEAGAN PRATT IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 (LITTLE GIRL THAT DIED) LAUREN PRATT IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 (MOTHER OF LITTLE GIRL THAT DIED) TOBEY MCCRAY IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 NATHAN MYERS IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 BING-QIAN LIU IS 11 LETTERS = 4 PLUS 7 As one can see, 12 characters on the show have 11 letters in their name and 7 of those 12 are already dead. I think the only conclusion that one can come to is that the number of letters in your name directly relate to whether your death is imminent. As foreshadowing, the writers have deliberately provided the first and last names of certain characters in order to discreetly reveal who will be targeted and eventually die. In numerology the number eleven is known as “the master number” or “psychic master.” Accordingly, people with the number 11 are particularly attuned to the spiritual realm and those with the number in their name are advancing on their spiritual journey and may soon reach their spiritual enlightenment. I believe the writers are aware of numerology and the significance of the number 11 and they have secretly encoded the characters’ name utilizing this number as an indicator of who will die. Perhaps they die because they have completed the spiritual journey that is Fromville. It is true you see the number 11 in Tabitha's hospital room, but you see the number in many aspects of the show. For example, other references which also have 11 letters in their name such as “Cromenockle,” “Lake of Tears,” “Christopher,” “Colony House” etc. Likewise, the number of permanent structures remaining in the town now stands at 11. Tabitha's hospital room number is 2225 = 11. The cards on the lighthouse tower in Tabitha’s dream are 4 and 7 = 11. The lighthouse light appears to have 11 rings around the center circle (the pocket universe). Moreover, many of the songs on the show have 11 letters in their title. I agree with much of your analysis, but I believe the key to Fromville is hidden by the writers and it is tied to the numbers 4 or 7. I believe the number 11 is the way to decode From. Great video. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your thoughts.

It's so weird watching other people watch this show. They'll see the monsters and scream "But what ARE they?" repeatedly, followed by "I'm not watching this show if they don't tell me what they are by the next episode." People in today's story climate will NOT wait for answers. They cannot enjoy a mystery, puzzles, or character development. I love this show, but I guarantee you it gets cancelled after Season 3 because people nowadays just have no patience with stories. It's either Marvel, Emily in Paris, or bust.

The story of Victor-mom seems to repeat as Ethan-mom But there might be a hope that Victor's sister is alive Now the answer is once victor found mother's corpse near the tree. Meant the tree teleported her back and fell down into nothing or trapped and died.. Why did the tree reject Victor's Mom? If they find Tabitha's corpse same place means that people who dies will get released out the town hence abby "was right"

The only way I can see the show continuing from that cliffhanger is if the hospital is neither the real world nor another part of Fromville. If it was the real world, Season 3 would have to be the final season, and it would be focused on Tabitha finding her way back and saving everyone. If it was just another part of Fromville, then it kinda invalidates the small town concept of the show. Instead, the hospital is probably a pseudo-mental environment for Tabitha like the dungeon was for Boyd, and she was sent there by the Boy in White on a mission to save the other children. Remember, the voices of the children called her up to the top of the tower, and then the Boy in White transported her to the hospital. For Boyd, the dungeon wasn't just some other time period that he was transported to; Martin knew both him and Abby, and the whole worms in his arm thing was linked to his Parkinson's Disease. The hospital is likely the same for Tabitha, who, as a mother of three, has probably spent a lot of time in hospitals. Saint Anthony is the patron saint of lost things, yes, but he is usually depicted holding a child. Tabitha's journey through the hospital may see her saving the lost children, or perhaps learning more about the Boy in White, before being transported back like Boyd was.

Thank you! You are the only other person I know that's says the tree roots looked like spider legs. Ethans dream too. Also Tabitha had a nightmare the 2nd night at colony house, where she visions the bride and later in the tunnels finds the wedding dress which helps here to know that what she's going through is real. Also when she sees Jim hanging upsidedown can represent the hanfmsn in the tarot. In by accepting ideas etc that are nrew.. Here is a quote from an article on the hangman that I think applies to Tabithas journey. This means he must let go of everything he previously knew and trust that the process he is undertaking will carry him forward. He must find new perspectives and leave the material world to seek spiritual enlightenment. At this stage of the journey, the hero must align himself with the laws of the universe, not the laws of man. She's slowly realized that she needs to think in a new way so she can understand what's going on and take a chance on what she sees.

Okay I’m sharing my wild theory all over RU-vid and your channel is my last stop😂. The “Angkhooey” the children keep chanting “looks and sounds” quite similar to St. “Anthony” , the hospital Tabitha woke up in. I think the scene of Jade surrounded by the 7 children looking up to see that symbol might mirror the reality of the children strapped up in a lab of some sort and looking up at the hospital logo. Someone solidified my theory by explaining that “Angkhooey” is what “Anthony” would sound like if you had feeding tubes in your mouth and your tongue can’t touch the roof of your mouth. Try saying Anthony with your tongue pressed down in your mouth. The kids also being in white with the patchy hair definitely gives lab/hospital vibes. Also Anyone else notice the patient room number? 2225 (2+2 2+5)= 47. I might be reaching but I think it’s something considering how important the number 47 is/was.

Wow, we have a legit timetable. Prior to this video that you realize/prove time is the same in FromLand. I broke down in detail "about" how much time has passed in From. •Until the day Marielle & the bus arrive, I previously wrote about 1 month passes entering S2. -Kristi missing since, 08/06/21 -Matthew's arrive 2/20/22 -Marielle arrives 6 months later -If someone says, "It's been 6 months," at most it can be 6 months + 3 weeks before someone would say 7 months, which would take us to 02/27/22 •Based off what I broke down it's crazy that only one week has passed even if most episodes ½ a day to 1 day passes. Primarily due to some events such as: a the end when Tabitha & Jim were digging the hole, multiple days were represented. Plus, building the radio tower represented AT LEAST 2 days. Also, after the Colony house massacre, everyone moving out, burying bodies, & and funerals, which happened off episodes, idk seems more than 1 week.

A foreboding of what was to come in season 2 with the children? As this was the first time he saw the symbol.

20:21 a newer psychological theory could also be Bruce Hoods theory of supersense. In search of explanation in chaos humans generate their own patterns of causality in an attempt to understand, coop and structure their reality. Generating Patterns of causality allows for the mind to view reality as somewhat more predictable and thus less random or terrifying. Its like Skinners paper on Pigeons exhibiting superstitious behaviour when fed at random intervals. The pigeons start to exhibit certain behavior or rituals that they believe is associated with triggering food. Animals and humans are pattern seekers and try to map out the causlity of their existence because it is in many cases adaptive or pragmatic to do so but can also be misguided since your mind can draw wrong conclusions of causality. An example would be something like classic superstition of walking under a ladder will cause something bad to happen or can be backwards rationalized as the cause of something bad.

We're pattern-seeking machines but the truth of it all is that a lot of things are just random, and undeterminable (even if they're determined to begin with). Why i stepped back the other day when thinking about this show again and considering whether i've been looking at it the wrong way. Some people can accept the uncertainty of life and survive simply, and others lose their marbles trying to causally connect every weird little thing in a tidy, meaningful way. One thing that's meaningful at the individual/subjective level is that all these creative causal mappings we draw sometimes help us resolve conflict (like an algorithm proofing itself) and sometimes, ironically, the ultimate realization is "shit just random lol, c'est la vie"

@@FromLand A serious man is great because apart from just the pattern seeking, it illustrates pretty perfectly the basic human condition of being in search of meaning in an absurd reality. Another basic human condition is our relation to the unknown and the anxiety that comes with it. I think a good point to this would be Bruce Hood's own stance towards things like superstition or religion; these things aren't necessarily bad, since they serve as an adaptive way to coop and bring with them a sense of security, control and causal understanding. Psychologically it's just important to be aware that we have this supersense and where these concepts may come from. That doesn't mean they can't be individually or existentially meaningful. Viktor Frankl definitely described many critical scenarios in his life, that can be reduced to supersense pattern seeking. Like the bird landing in front of him while he was in the concentration camp at the exact moment he was thinking about his wife. To him that was personally deeply meaningful and a clear sign that allowed him to have hope in an otherwise hopeless situation. But to others it becomes like the young Rabbi parking lot scene from A Serious Man lol. Kierkegaard's view on the self as being split into anxiety forces of sympathic and antipathic or Marslow's security VS. Growth, might also help explain the differential subjectivness. But remember the creators of From said they have already written the ending of the show and everything in the show is done on purpose. Psychologically analysing the show like you do is insanely interesting because it can illustrate where the creators ideas are coming from (even if they weren't consciously aware of all of them) and thus might give us some clues to where the story is going or why the story is unfolding like it is. In my opinion it really adds more value to it, since it gives me more ways to view and understand the show so I really appreciate the work you put into this.

I also find the shows very allegorical and full of personifications, many representations of the psychological side the world; like the main characters are almost all personification of some archetype or concepts, even how the curse works; including the town itself.

I don't trust anything the evil entity says. I think what Boyd did was needed and the entity is trying to make him doubt himself just like making him doubt about destroying the music box and making hope the problem. I understand the Pandora reference and hope as one of the evils, the duality of hope but it's a manipulation also to break someone

I've recently just discovered this series and binged 2 seasons in 3 days. I've come to the conclusion that they're trapped in some part of hell maybe. That's why there's no bibles in the town at all which they made a point about. Also the drawing of the red monster in the underground could represent the devil whilst the boy in white represents innocence and only shows himself to Victor and Ethan. Also the visions the people are having are related to their past lives and maybe the reason they're in hell. The children were calling Tabitha Aunt Cooey and her reflection was different at the end of the season. I think they could somehow be reincarnated as different people and keep coming back to the town. Jade was having visions of the civil war soldier and seems to be getting obsessed with the symbol the same as the other guy did and Tabitha and Victors mum seem to reflect each other

It seems that the writers have given us many threads which can support a number of theories at the same time, until its ultimately revealed. I definitely agree that there are many influences from great horror writers/movies. Definitely many illusions to nightmare on elm street, stranger things and steven king. Which Stranger things is heavily influenced from his work. So, as i was watching the last two seasons i noticed a number of analogous concepts and set ups especially from the short story, The Boogeyman, if it bleeds. The outsider (sk book) and the dark tower. Another youtuber released a very interesting video (E-man's movie reviews) on his support of who is the big bad of this town. I will speak about the dark tower elements. First, the lighthouse does seem to parralel the tower, as its a nexus between many worlds. Boyd is a sheriff, or a gunslinger, like Roland Deschain. There is an obsession with reaching the lighthouse, much like the dark tower. There are allusions to a good and bad entity, like the crimson king and Gan, the creator of the tower. Also, in his book, insomnia, it is revealed as the overall forces which control the world are the random (chaos) and order. Both sides have agents who are in constant struggle. So, if the boy in white is one entity and there is another entity struggling against it, there is that similarity. Also, the way in which tabitha was sent to another world is similar to rolands fate. Lastly, there is analogies to the breakers held in prison to the 7 children who dome have theorised hold up this town.

@jonfreeman9682 I like that too. The question, who's dream is it? I think if it went that route, finding out who the dreamer is would be very interesting. Sorta reminds me of Bloodborne where the story takes place in the hunters dream to birth an old God.

@@JoseRamirez-vb1sk This story can go in so many directions. It can be aliens snatching humans put them in some weird zoo with monsters to study them like ants in a sandbox like in that movie Dark City. Or this could be another dimension they're trapped in and the lighthouse is a portal to get back home. All those ghosts of past victims, the scary looking kids, the boy in white could be spirits of past victims trying to help guide the people still left. Or this could be a dream like virtual reality machine they're hooked up in and can't get out. All the people here could be in the hospital hooked up to a dream machine to help them rehabilitate from severe injury and are in a coma but something's gone wrong and this dream world has turned into a nightmare world. This is like the movie ghost of war, Matrix and Netflix show 1899. The boy in white and the scary children could be virtual reality avatars like help angels to provide tech support in this dream world. So this show can go any of those 3 directions. I'm leaning towards the virtual reality dream world gone wrong just because so many movies and shows choose this story direction. The other two aliens snatching humans for experiment or other worldly dimensions and portals aren't really used that much. Only one that comes to mind is dark city. There's alot of possibilities including maybe even time travel. But the waking up from a dream in a comma is the easy cop out writers use without having to explain everything. LoL

Lovecraftian , monster on cave walls has tentacles, Cthulhu, Elder/Ancient Gods ie Cthulhu he's said to be slumbering deep in the sea idk feels like kinda Cabin in the Woods vibes you know in the end of that movie it was all sacrifices to keep the Great Ancient Old Gods from coming back and annihilating everything and everyone maybe some kinda Cosmic game between the elder gods the townspeople are their chess/monopoly board pieces definitely a good possibility 💯🤯🤷

When I saw the tree thing with the kids I nearly gave up on the show. A rip straight from Minority Report. And more circular nothing with the plot. Two seasons and we’re still nowhere further than we were in Season 1 Episode 1. I completely disagree with the creator that said not knowing the ending helps you enjoy the journey. Wisecrack has a good video on spoilers that could say it better than I can, but the journey (the story) is enjoyable, or should be, in and of it’s self because of how the plot progresses and how well it’s acted. If that weren’t the case then every reproduction of any Shakespeare play would completely fail, movie remakes wouldn’t be a thing, and books would go out of print. They don’t have to say very specifically what’s happening, but constantly introducing new twists just seems cheap to me. This season was not good at all, save for maybe tow decent episodes.

@FromLand

Yeah, the town does seem a lot newer when Victor was a child (and it should), but also more specifically it looked very well kept. Maybe the town as we know it was put together around that time. The missing hotel further adds to the “scrapbook” idea of the town. The elements of the town seem pretty random. Really curious to find out what is the mechanism behind the town.
