I'm 18 and I found out Front 242 only a few months ago and it's already one of my favorite bands. I was really lucky to visit their concert in Berlin this year, liked it very much. Almost everyone there was over 30 years old and some are even 40-60. Not many young people. So cool that you listen such good music in your 70s!!
I have been following Front 242 since the '80's. Best electronic band ever! They set the stage for every EBM hard-core group since. Great stage show, best musical concepts, best and most interesting lyrics...but who cares about lyrics when the beats are the focus. No tricky or distracting stage shows: just the band and their music!!! Front 242 has always been the fore-runners of EBM music since their inception: the best of the best.
Totally Agree. I love them since 1990 and saw them more than 40 times since then. Another Band i prefer for their Shows is Skinny Puppy, even the distracting Stageperformance is main part of the concept.
Yalls taste in music sucks! Skinny Yuppy? We booed them off the stage in New Orleans when they opened for STP, another terrible group. Only 1 guy here was in headhunter 242
Do not underestimate nitzer ebb and dm I know r23 (Richard jonckeehere et jean Luc and patrick also. We go always togheter to ne and dm. We know eachother from the crazy times in Brussels disco’s. Golden times.
People making comments are disclosing their age. I'll do the same. I'm turning 53 years old within a month from now. Got into 242 in the 80's. 242's music is timeless anyway. TAKE ONE! Greetings from Melbourne.
What an amazing recording of an epic concert with the heroes of my youth in front of an ecstatic crowd. It can't get any better than this. Thank you so much for this upload!

Me too. I live in San Diego and saw them live at SDSU in 1990. I'm 50 years old now and they've been a major influence as a keyboardist and producer of electronic music. This is a real treat.
@@jyoung71 started in 1981. Great that you love a ‘niche ´ band from our small country from belgium In the summer went with r23, jl, Patrick, Duc (ex Nitzer Ebb) and some friends to the Brussels leg of NE ! Super party
Holy crap, had no clue these guys were still around doing concerts. Been listening to Front 242 since the 80’s & 90’s and love ‘em. This concert kicked ass!
It's crazy to think their last new studio album came out almost 20 years ago. I have been a huge Front 242 fan and saw loads of live concerts. They lost me somewhere down the line by performing the same songs over and over again. But I'm very happy to hear 3 new songs! I strongly hope for a new studio release to show the electronic music scene how it's done. It's amazing to see these guys active & kicking ass after all these years, and to notice they made some new renditions of their classic songs. Best Belgian export in the music industry and most likely the best alternative electronic band in history. ZWEI VIER ZWEI
I remember back in 1987-10-25 when they were the support band for depeche mode in munich. Unbelievably cool. I bought the cd the next day, even though I didn't have a cd player yet.
I've been a massive fan of this band for over thirty years, but Glasgow last Friday was the first time I've ever seen them in the flesh. Thankfully I'd also got tickets for last night in Islington too. Not only that, but I shared the same carriage on the train out of Glasgow with some members of the band, and support crew. A truly, truly memorable weekend.
Fan since 1984. I once met Patrick Codenys very shortly near place st Gery, Brussels. Told this story to my dad and I wanted him to show something. Then found out that 40 years Front 242 in AB still had to take place. Thought I missed it but Covid delayed it. Booked tickets for my wife and me. What a great concert!
@@Markus-yj2jc I met Patrick a few months before the concert in AB. I talked about front 242 to my dad and I wanted to show a few songs. Then only I found out that 40 years of front 242 still had to take place. I thought I had missed it. Corona helped me 😅. We were there on saturday. Indeed, it was great! Grtz K
I remember going to a Front 242 gig without any real introduction to the electronic scene and being absolutely gobsmacked by the energy of this old band! Completely blew me away when they flipped a packed venue upside down through sheer energy. It truly was a privilege to see them play. The crowd participation here is absolutely a testament to how timeless their sound is. But then it's hardly surprising since learning their history after the fact.
OMG truly a great show thanks for the upload and imo they didn't even play their best tracks... I'm grateful I discovered this band whilst rummaging the record aisles late 80's early 90's... Long Live Front 242 \m/
Richard 23, J3. Je vous conseille agrumh, album no way out, drama in the Subway
It was awesome. Front 242. Enjoyed the graphics and lighting too, which were way better and spot on than last time a few years ago at AB. The good old Front style, and still relevant.
Saw them in the 1990s in México City at a venue that lost control of the crowd in the gates. Epic Riot. Beer bottles bombing down and shit. The concert still happened went with all my gang, front sounded awesome, the PA system some of the best sounding bass and kick drum thumping on our chest. Great memory. Long live 242
I saw one of their concerts in France in the 90s. I've never stopped listening to this band. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...
The grandfathers of EBM. Influenced EVERYTHING and EVERYONE that came after to date. Well, Front 242 and Frontline Assembly. They're both at the same level.
Integrity. This is it. That didn't make one rich, or "successful". This is what they are, like Charles de Goal and many others that inspired many commercial bands!
I saw Front 242 for their Up Evil tour in Orlando, Florida. The only time I've seen them live & I still remember is being a kick ass concert. On a side note, it's amazing how much technology has changed since then. Back then, they had 3 or 4 synths they were using for the entire concert, and now they're down to one.
Just bought tickets for their show in London on 8th Dec. Already too excited to sleep. Sadly, I reckon it'll be the last time I see them, but they're doing what's right for them. Always lied this band. Always will.
Maybe someone can answer these questions?!?! What is the song "Operating Tracks" about? What are the lyrics of the song "Red Team"? I can't find the live version on any record.
1987 I had tickets for the DM "Music for the masses" Tour which was supported by 242. At this time I was 15 years old, now I am 52 and still listening to FRONT. Can you believe these genius bastards came out of belgium ? Absolutely one of a kind, legendary, a masterpiece of electronic music!
Back then they almost signed a record deal with ZTT records. What have could been:the art by Anton Corbijn and the production by Trevor Horn, only in dreams.
Man these Guy's deserve like a Billion likes. Also in my opinion a Billion times better than most of the Shite excuse for Music and Bands of the present moment💯🔥🇧🇪
