Hi Max.I have a K11 and recently found this channel.I love it and the way you approach things helps people like me with basic tools and limited facilities. You show the Real world situations DIYers face so all credit to you. Thanks for sharing so helpful.
Had this happen before with these drop links. If the spanner and allen key dont work I have applied some heat in the past, it's surprising how effective a few minutes with a blowtorch can be for cracking the nut from the thread. It works more often than not. [edit] I would add for any readers, please be sure that the area is suitable for applying the open flame of a blowtorch, by making sure that you are clear of any underseals etc that could be near enough to catch fire, remove the substance or suitably shield it from the open flame.
Yes the application of heat is a brilliant tool! Sadly for me in N. Ireland to get insurance if you use fire makes it twice as expensive so I opt to save a thousand pound a year and not use fire! Thanks very much for the comment I’m sure it will help someone out and that’s the whole idea 😄
I'd wouldn't have fitted new springs and drop links to the old shocks... makes more sense to replaced the lot... droplinks, springs and shocks. Makes the job easier and prevents have to go through all that again when those old shocks finally fail.
