Bro, you need to give him a break. He’s 78 years old. Still blows Clapton, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page and Joe Perry away!

@@junkerscott you’re right. It’s not my place to “give him a break” though. It was an amazing night, I’m just pointing what’s different than usual

He does, but he's on the slide big time. He's struggling finding the notes sometimes now... fumbling with some phrases...some of the bends are a little sharp etc... But, let's see if any of us can do this at 78!... He's a legend. Knopfler is another.. but he's still hitting his songs on point.

11:16 Haha: the security guy in the left corner of the screen's like: 'I don't remember it's supposed to be like that!' LOL Having said that, I don't think it's a bad performance of the CN solo, but it also wasn't great

I’ll be seeing him on the 29th at the Hollywood bowl. My favorite guitarist and can’t wait, still can’t help but feel a bit disappointed with the missed notes and voice aging. Obviously the voice thing happens. But still. Also kind of noticed how the light show production is a bit toned down from last tour, seemed wayyyy cooler before. What did you overall think?

Great video your lucky to see him live and front row. But l have a weird question if David Gilmour says he done with pink floyd then why did he played pink floyd songs. Anyways he's a legendary guitar player and plus l would sell my arm and a leg to see him live.
@m2svirtual384
@m2svirtual384 Час назад
That's a VERY complicated question in which one could write many paragraphs trying to describe/answer. You have to begin with why David even continued Pink Floyd in the late 80's, and well, It certainly had its share to do with marketing and exposure post Waters. But to keep it brief, and answer your question as to the here and now... he has enough solo material to do an entire show (and I, for one, would be absolutely fine with that), but many Pink Floyd fans attending want and EXPECT to hear those songs. And as well, many songs released under the Floyd brand were very much David's solo stuff to begin with. Most notably, Comfortably Numb.

I feel that the Pompeii version of 5AM with the Les Paul is what the song was meant to be done with. But, i cannot wait for a proper full featured concert version of this Tour as i will mot likely not be able to see him in person, regretfully! Thanks for the vid! And great seats by the way! Its also kinda funny to see Ben's 16th not hop to keep time! Must be the nerves! :D

I'm just back in the Hotel from the Sunday concert and oh boy that was such an amazing experience, it was worth every penny spend for the trip to Rome. It was my first David Gilmour concert and it was by far the best concert I ever have been.

I get it that he's old etc and that I should be lucky to reach his age, but I think he knew he was making a lot of mistakes and it was getting to him. I also think his guitar strap snapping was the final straw and made him lose confidence.

@@mustyguitar something I have noticed is that they have transposed a lot of these songs down a step I think that is reallly throwing it off and he essentially has to relearn how to play all these solos differently than the step up. Not an easy task, I will be seeing him in LA and I am sure the tour will being back the muscle memory.
