A very much bucket list item was taking a ride behind the world-famous Gresley A3 Pacific No. 60103 Flying Scotsman while on its visit to the Bluebell Railway.
By chance my seat was allocated in the front coach and I managed to get a spot out the front window behind the corridor tender. The trip sees us depart Sheffield Park on the 1000 service and head up the 11 mile line to East Grinstead, passing through Horsted Keynes and Kingscote stations, facing some challenging grades including Freshfield and Imberhorne banks. The engine sounded on fine form as it travelled through the Sussex countryside, and filming a journey behind it was certainly a highlight of its visit!
