If your bag fits and Frontier still wants to charge you...... Take a picture of your bag fitting inside the test box. Pay with a credit card and make Frontier think they won. Immediately dispute the charge with the card company and send the picture to your credit card company.
@@biancalord488 - the credit card company is there for you, not for the airlines! If you have photographic proof that the bag fits, then they should reimburse your money.
@@user-ff1qo9wt1m - in order to show proof that the photograph was taken on the same trip that you were charged, snap a photo of the bag inside the sizing bin and have your $99 bag fee receipt card in the photo together. Now, Frontier is saying that you're not allowed to push your bag into the bin. It has to naturally fall into the bin on its own. That's B.S. because there is nowhere in their policy that says that! Many passengers were charged when they had to gently push their bags down into the bin.
I am tired of passengers being treated with such hostility and indignity. They make you feel like criminals. I would rather pay more and choose another airline.
Nah! I paid $41.96 for a round trip to Florida from Connecticut. Treat me like I'm walking into a Con Air flight as long as I get airfare cheaper than a tank of gas and I get to my destination safe. Especially in this economy.
I literally had to do that in Orlando my bag wouldn't fit so I wore like 12 shirts and 6 pairs of pants and I just took it off once the plane left and put it above my head 😂😂
They won’t check that will they 😂 using frontier next Wednesday for Kansas City mo to phoenix AZ if they don’t check it I’ll definitely put all my layers on😭😭😂😂
Frontiers agents are paid $10.00 for every bag that doesn’t fit. You then have to pay $99 for that bag. Now I just flew Frontier 10 days ago. My personal item is an American Touristor 18x14x8. Fit at checkin. I get to boarding gate agent tells me to put it in sizer. It fit. I had to push it but it fit. She said NO IT DOESN’T. The other agent put her hand on top of my personal item and looked at boarding agent and said it does fit. She still wanted to charge me $99. I said “ That’s funny it fit downstairs at checkin why doesn’t it fit here are these smaller?” She got mad 😡 and said ok go ahead.
... y'all complain when people do an dont get paid. your favorite airline is probably somewhere paying people 11 dollars an hour go complain about that.
@@itzjustissa yes people should be able to live off of their income and not need to commit crimes or scams to make a living. Why is that so hard? I complain about pay in the airline industry with everyone even my favorite airline. There is not one airline that pays their staff their worth ESPECIALLY flight attendants who are forced to work for free on EVERY airline during boarding and deplaning. They have actual work tasks to complete for safety and are just not paid for this? Go bitch to someone else it’s okay to be pro worker and consumer at the same time bro.
Now I’m just picturing all these people crisscross applesauce on the floor of the plane, one bathroom, two windows. It’s like general admission to a concert, no reserved seats, it’s first come, first serve 💪🏼 you can bring as many bags as you like, as long as they fit in your lap without touching people beside you 😳💣💀
@@andrewsstation6436before I reached your comment I was already imagining people standing up like on a bus or train during Rush Hour with there bags at their feet.......unreal 😂😂😂😂
This is America. You have the option to fly other airlines. Why create legislation to make them change. How authoritarian of you! How do you think they keep such low ticket prices.
@@Jagster7k Currently corporations can do what they want with little or no repercussions. Anyhow, a Passengers Rights would require a bill introduction and final voting for approval. What part of that is authoritarian? PS: This is the US. America is the continent.
Frontier....worst airline EVER. They tried the same thing with us for baggage/size, sat in a broken seat for 5.5 hours, terrible customer service. Don't waste a dime with this airline.
How do their flights ever leave the gate on time? Making everybody put their bag in the sizer when it's obvious that a lot of those bags fit just by looking at them.
They don't, Frontier has the most cancelations and delayed flights of all the airlines.. They cancel 3x as much as a Major airline and fly 10x less flights...
The issue is travelers think Frontier and Spirit are like other airlines, they are not. You travel these two airlines like the city bus. Like you travel from one side of the city to the other, carrying nothing but a personal item.
Is it comfy to have that on flights. Last time I flew spirit a couple of passengers had them and they looked like they would be nice to use to take a nap on the plane with.
Legend at 2:53😂😂. “Oh you want me to take off my bag to see if you’re gonna charge me more money?? Oh no problem. Hold my shytt real quick then.” I would have cracked up if i was in line and saw that. And would have probably bought him a drink on the plane haha.
I wouldn’t be surprised if one day frontier passengers have to weigh themselves before boarding and charge exorbitant fees for overweight passengers even if they are just an ounce over.
The problem is that they make you pay for bags that fit now. Especially if youre young and flying alone, or if you don't speak good English. They'll make you pay for the bag. They prey on the weak. I flew frontier just a week ago. Two flights to get to Portland from Philly. No problems with my bags. Returning flight, first leg from Portland to Denver, the bag fits still. The last flight from Denver to Philly, the bag no longer fits and I have to pay for it. The bag clearly fit but she wanted to shake me down for money. I refused and they let me in but some younger girls who were flying alone and some immigrants they made to pay even though their bags fit. I can't believe this is happening in America. In addition, the flight was late and the ac didn't work as we waited for the pilot to show up. Frontier is falling apart. The attendants were talking about getting jobs with other companies. I am fearing that it might not be safe to fly frontier anymore. During this last trip to Portland 3 out of 4 flights we were on were late. On 2 of them the AC didn't work while we waited for the plane to be started. The attendant flat out said: the ac machine is broken, sorry. I might need to pack a parachute in that personal item going forward. Hope it fits.
I honestly think it's an issue with the Denver airport staff in particular. Always happens to us in Denver. Even when the bag slides right in. If the bag puffs the tiniest bit above the top, it "doesn't fit". Even if it's regulation 8x18x14 and under-packed and purchased specifically for that purpose. 😡
@@draw-enna-akire it is possible. I felt it was very abusive. We had no sleep, it was the last leg of the trip, and no customer service to help us. It was: pay or you don't go. I told my family that I will pay as much as it takes to take a flight with another company but we will not bow to this abuse. They let us through eventually, we did not pay extra but the experience was so dehumanizing.
Those "agents" will never get a job with any other airline. Even Spirit has better employees. Every video, these agents are sloppy in dress and hygiene, hair etc, walk and talk unprofessional and are rude. No decent airline will hire these employees.
@@getmeouttatennessee4473 Than you for stick up for Spirit Employees. I flew with them for the first time a few months again and will be doing so again in a few weeks. I found that that each employee was friendly and helpful. All this videos of Frontier being the "bag police" is scaring me into not wanting to fly with them.
Sounds like they are not running the APU (auxiliary power unit) possibly to save cost. AC is usually not on a minimum requirement list under that condition (though it should be during summer months). Frontier giving passengers a real “rustic” experience.
I don’t get why people are catching an attitude over their oversized bags when they knew the rules. This is the price you pay with a no frills budget airline. But my best recommendation is to get the Calpak mini hue (absolutely the best purchase I made for when I fly budget with family). It’s small enough to count as a personal item and can fit 3-5 days worth of summer attire if you pack everything tight enough.
Thanks for the calpak recommendation. Online it says the depth is 8.5” and frontier allows 8”. Have you personally attempted fitting it as a frontier personal? Thanks 😊
My thing is... if the bag fits under the seat, why does anyone care? I got dinged for a small backpack that has a frame in it. It was not going in, but other than that frame it is small enough. I really don't care and I paid the fee and I still put it under the seat instead of an overhead. It just seems incredibly petty. Hindsight being 20/20 i would have used a different bag, i have flown with that bag on frontier for years. It was off putting and created a lot of stress with others at the gate. Really actively created a negative environment while boarding. They can draw the line however they like, and I am free to take that into consideration when choosing a carrier in the future. It is what it is.
@@mydogsnameisbob I’ve heard of people who took pictures of their bag fitting in the metal size checker and under the seat and submitting that as a chargeback request with their credit card company . So far every claim I saw has been successful but if you’re frequently flying and constantly charging back the $99 penalty your account may get flagged and blacklisted. Take what you will with this information but proceed with caution if you choose to entertain it. But I totally get that stress feeling when flying with them especially seeing gate agents who go out of their way to create fake rules to gain a $10 commission. Best advice I give everyone is to prepare yourself to be in the right from baggage, boarding passes, etc before arriving to your gate.
Thanks for the great vid! My husband & I both in our 70s went thru this. These bags fit under the seat for crying out loud. Gotta keep shaming their small mindedness!
It’s because there is never any room for the people who paid for a carry on in the overhead bins! Those that didn’t pay for a carry on put there bags up there when they should put it under the seat! Simple
Doing the lord almighty's work by posting this vid. TY! Also, the red-haired dude who stole his way onto the plane with his girl, w/o paying the baggage fee for her oversided bag was donning an Osprey bag. Anyone know what Osprey bag that was?
In a way I think that this is a result of deregulation but at the same time, passengers need to use their brains and get a bag/suit case that will fit that bin.
@@andy_182 It IS slimey. It incentives the employees to say the bag doesn't fit, even when it's actually acceptable. The employees shouldn't be "making more money" at the expense of passengers. It's a way for the company to rip passengers off by making it more desirable for employees to say it doesn't fit. This is a low cost airline, a lot of these passengers are not rolling in cash. Frontier is even greedy towards their employees and are making it so their flight attendants don't even get to go on layovers anymore because they don't want to pay for their hotels.
@@NotSure2582 that part, on top of that gate agents make several announcements giving you the option to size and adjust/pay for your bag ahead of time.
The young tall dude with black jacket at the end with the red duffle got, got that bag was smaller then most doesn’t even looked packed it was just long 😂
Thanks for this video! It is my confirmation not to book with them. I’ve never experienced this on any airline in the States or overseas. It’s hard enough traveling with children then to possibly go through this too. I will pass! Even RyanAir nor Allegiant ever made us do this 😂.
The joke is you are inconveniencing all these customers. They will open their bags and resort out their stuff so they don't have to pay. They are still going to bring it on the plane. Then part of this video I saw a couple people sneaking on through.
I can't believe I sat here and watched this whole video... and liked it. It's kind of like those pimple popping or ear wax removal videos that suck me right in.
I’m glad because when those families show up they have 8-10 carry on’s just so they don’t have to pay the 30 bag check so when you get on there’s no more room!!
If your bag does not fit, they should offer for sale a bag that does fit like the Take Off Luggage and let passengers repack. Just charging passengers a fee without option of another luggage that will definitely fit is adversarial to passengers.
I just flew with them last night and our flight was over 2 hours delayed and then they still had you check all your bags. Mine was too big and the girl was shy and just asked “is that your carry on?” I said yup! Lol she didn’t question further
She probably makes more bonuses on that 1 flight for them bags they are going to charge those people for than many waiters makes in tips SMH. End of the day though, they make it perfectly clear what the personal size bad limit is on the website, so its up to the person if they want to follow those terms or not.
Frontier gets the most complaints of any other airline in the US and that includes Spirit (the cheapest airline). I would rather pay the extra $100 and fly with Alaska and get excellent service.
They tried to make me pay $100 for 2 pounds for my checked bag. I moved items to personal bag and she then tried to say that my personal didn't fit......it did and i kept my money. Lol. They should have checked bags at the cheeck in counters to give people opportunities to move things around
The fact that they're using that and can't tell visually shows their lack of professionalism! Too bad we don't have KLM for intercontinental flights on America. Royal Dutch really knows how to treat passengers 💙
Omg once I took that airline and never again. They literally stand there looking at everyone’s bag and telling that it has to fit in comfortable and you can’t force it in. Then you got to pay $100 hell no
Weight also counts to the bag besides if it fits..if it fits and weighs more it has to be charged differently too. You’d know this if you read the policy on the website but aye people wanna be dense, always ready policy before boarding any flight
@@toxichammertoe8696 no you don’t, when you are researching they don’t tell you the true cost of the flights, so bad that the federal government is trying to pass legislation so consumers know what the actual cost are.
@@kimberlyfamoly5863 doesn't matter the cost of flight...a pair of $150 Nikes cost only $6 to make..people are willing to spend $3000 for a special type... Frontier's price is extremely cheap and if you have a problem with it, then go fly someone else and PAY for it!
Budget airlines (really all airlines that fly domestic in the states) make you pay for a carryon to go in the overhead bins. These are personal items that are supposed to go on the floor under the seat in front of you. Many people put their personal items in the overhead bins when they get on the plane though instead of under the seat, that's part of the reason why they fill up so fast and the last half to board have to check their carry-ons on the big carriers. At least they check them for free at the gate if that happens. The budget carries you have to pay for the carryon and it's cheaper to pay for it when you buy the ticket online
When you pay $60 round trip you don't want them to go out of business. These airlines provide a service at a good price for shorter trips or light travelers. Want more, then pay more on another airline.
It's literally what you agree to when booking a flight though. Why are people mad? The bigger/heavier the bag, the more it weighs (thats the point of the sizing more so), the more fuel the ppane needs. The more the plane needs, the heavier it weighs. The heavier it weighs, the more fuel it consumes. Y'all wouldn't like non American airlines that weigh your carry on/personal items and strictly measure them too 😂😂😂
I get that people may overpack their personal item but the time check it should be at the ticket counter, NOT at the dam gate and especially not while boarding.
I do not know Frontier since I have only travelled in Europe. I mostly use Ryanair since it is the cheapest I can find and only take a personal item. I don't think it is ok to charge people more to take a carry-on bag but it is what it is. The problem is that some totally ignore the size regulations. They clearly state how big the bags have to be. If you pack way too much or the bag is too big, well...
Don't see an issue. Small personal items allow EVERYONE'S item's to fly without a problem. Who hasn't had to seek storage on an airplane with people behind you waiting... I don't think duffle bags or backpacks should be allowed bc they expand. Multiple people on this video wore clothes just to make bag fit. You pay what you get.
If you look at other videos of people testing their carry ons at Frontier, their bags obviously fit, but they are denied being able to carry them on board and being charged the 99 dollars. Kind of a bait and switch.
I've never seen this happen before until it happened on my flight. I was livid! Every single person in line had to do this even when they had a small backpack that you could tell would fit just by looking at it. I was in zone 2 and ppl in the other zones got to pass me up.
So 1 personal item per passenger. I see 2 personal items on some of these passangers. You can't put two bags under your seat. Reading comprehension is a big fail. It's a cheap flight for a reason get a school backpack put your clothes in it and it goes under your seat. If you want take a carryon you pay. Some of these people try and take a carryon as a personal 🤦🏻♂️. I've flown Frontier it's really not hard. I noticed anyone with a typical backpack and even that hard shelled luggage fit they let them go. Anyone that had an oversized bag they told them no. Makes sense. If you don't want to hassle with bag sizes pay for a flight that isn't about being a cheap flight.
Some people who have been charged 99 dollars should get a lawyer and file class action law suit against Frontier . I guarantee the lawyer could find a legitimate reason why this standard is in violation. People need to come together and seek justice. Why would you pay 99 dollars for an oversized bag when other airlines are charging a lot less and have a free carry on bag. You see cheapies not always feasible.
This is crazy honestly. I've been flying for years with Frontier and I have never seen them stop each person to do this. One time I got stopped and I had to pay $99 but I KNEW before I even went that it might not fit but i took the chance. Yeah they want to make more money but The point is , you know before you go to the airport that your bag is too big for a personal item soooo how can you be upset because they checked it and it was too big... just pay for the carry on or GET THE RIGHT SIZE BAG... Also I fly with American and they also check your personal item if they think its too big...
Frontier is not the only company that is charging for bags all of the airlines charge for bags. Whethe or not you pay for it in the price and your ticket or you paid for separate? Delta United and spirit all charge separate fee for carry on. Agents only get $3. If you bring a large bag and have to put it in the overhead bin you are using a space and you have to pay for that space if you bring a smaller bag that fits underneath the seat in the front of you. You do not have to pay for it. It should be a legal for the passengers to hide their bags under their coats and blankets. Agents are doing what they are instructed to do, you follow instructions at your work don't you?
Why do people wait to unstrap when they are at the check point.? I mean you know you have to take off your backpack? If I was the ticket agent anyone who wasn't ready to put their pack in the size box when they got up there would be kicked off the flight, no refund.
Everyone complaining 😂maybe you should make sure your bag is compliant with the airline regulations. I am a frequent flyer and i have never had any problems.
