A short sci-fi film about a journalist investigating a secretive new government facility deep in the Maine woods. She meets a local conspiracy nut who is convinced the facility is a front for a sinister plot. The journalist assumes he's a kook until some compelling evidence begins to surface.

The realm of possibilities here is endless. Having had a few experiences in 2019 living in a fairly remote rural area, I'm pretty sure our military is up to some hinky things and playing with it's citizens. Thanks for the great story, enjoyed.

how about not just continue but finish the damn thing. Not nearly enuff build up to justify an no ending ending.l Enjoyed it but it did not understand it. A story must have 3 basic elements....a beginning, a middle and an end. Not just a fooking light. there's so much potential here but if you quit now and leave it where you left it you haven;t completed ur mission as a story teller.

The first few comments that I read wanted the story to continue. The comment writers wanted "more" ... some kind of conclusion or rounding off I guess. I think that it ended at the perfect point. I enjoyed this. I was gripped from the start. Many thanks. Long live #indie and #shorts #ShortFilms and #SciFi with a bit of thought behind it.

Paige , the actress in this is very appealing, in a normal "girl next door" kind of way. I hope you get to remake this into a longer version.

I hate when this happens. I get sucked into watching a video, the video ends up being better than I would have ever imagined, I forget it is just a "SHORT", and it ends..... I hope you did a part 2 cause i'm about to start looking for it. Great Job.

Can Opener Studio Shorts Richie's rhetoric is spot on, Stephen Parkhurst, the writer and Producer has an ear and does great dialouge. In all of the years as a journalist, I never had a story like this.

This film short was too short. Love the small town feeling that is exuded. And Corey Hart at the end? Nice touch. I mean, it's not like seeing Elvis's face on a piece of toast, but classier.

It's true; the trees do provide cover. Nazis hid a lot of stuff deep in the woods. Like a train full of sum...writing paper or other wartime commodities

Well made all around and held me in suspense until the end, forgetting that it was actually a film short. The lead was very well acted, the local resident less so. Still, it would be nice to see a continuation of this story line some day.

better than average sci-fi short with a fascinating cliff-hanger (cause the team couldn't think of a good ending....). Would rate an A maybe an A+ if not for that hideous "guy with lights for eyes" a minute before the end, which knocked it back to B-

Jonquil: Got it. I missed the beard tying him as the missing friend. So focused on the eyes I missed the obvious. Thanks for replying. This flic deserves a series. However, as humans, we always seem to shoot first. I recall the argument over Carl Sagan putting the golden record on Voyager 1 or 2 because it gave our location to anyone who may find it. This is true and ultimately he won and the record is on a journey that will last longer than the earth itself. At it's current speed it should take about 70,000 years just to get to Proxima Centauri. Think anyone will intercept it and drop in for a visit?

This is really great. I was wanting more when it ended. Should be a feature length film or a series. This really felt like episode one of a really good series. I think I'd be hooked right from the start. Great job by everyone involved.

This could be one heck of a popular series. Very well done for being a short. Just needs tweeked and condensed a little more with the message being stated and not run a round the bush lead up to it.

What the hell???? That was great and then...that????? Make a part two. That wasn't even like a lot of other Dust shorts where they try to be ambiguous and deep and stuff by leaving the ending completely vague. That was simply unfinished. Seriously, decent acting, good music, cool story and then...nothing??? FINISH IT!!! LOL. Seriously, make the second half. I'll watch it.

GREAT short film. Lead actress is beautiful and talented, resolute. BUT WHY stop it there, just as it gets REALLY interesting?!! I was crest-fallen when the titles came up . . . where's part 2? No resolution leaves me so cold! Thank you for a very enjoyable 15 mins but should have been longer and resolved. Cheers from Australia.

Okay, since this seems to be a Kelly exclusive reply section, I gotta chime in. I agree! Sometimes I wonder if that's because they're so short though. If folks had to stretch some of these amazing shorts into feature length movies, I wonder if we'd get a lot of filler nonsense that makes them about as bad as most other movies.

Ignoring the fact that it is fifteen minutes I jump in, It is paced like a full feature, and I get drawn in. Fifteen minutes are up; Wham Bam. Thinking to myself, could this have been have been brought to a less abrupt conclusion ?

I enjoyed this film it was mildly suspenseful in a x-files kind of way a little campy all good till the man in black? showed up wardrobe could have found a shirt that fit. Paige is really cute and held her own.
