She also probably realized that after her utter failure at the Princess Prom, it was pointless to maintain that façade of being 'adult and mature' because no one could take it seriously anymore. Not only was the prom bombed on her watch, but she exiled the one guest who actually saw what was coming and was trying to protect the prom (did Frosta ever formally revoke that, or is it still on the books technically but no one thinks to enforce it?). Even more embarrassing, the Sword of Protection was stolen while in her care as part of it and two guests under her hospitality were kidnapped by the Horde who abused their status as guests to get in. If she has advisors, they probably pushed heavily for joining the Alliance afterwards or at least becoming co-belligerents against the Horde simply because if Snows let them get away with that, then who could take the kingdom seriously when they let such a thing happen on their watch? And even though they were in part just outfoxed, they had to do something in retaliation to maintain that if nothing else Snows would not take such slights lying down. ironically, that probably also helped Frosta realize that since this queenly mask of hers was going to be lost anyways in such an embarrassing manner, why not be herself instead? She's going to be seen as the kid in over her head anyways, may as well accept it since it means she can be true to herself and have her achievements be more satisfying because it would be Frosta's rather than the Princess of Snows'. In some ways, the Horde's perfidy at the prom actually had some benefits for Frosta even if in the short term it was a complete and utter humiliation that would drag Snows into the war or otherwise completely lose its standing at a diplomatic table.

I'm just imagining that her Personality Change has to do with the warmer Weather. Normally she very serious, but the quick change from the Tundra to the much warmer Bright Moon kinda messed her up. On Etheria, "Melting the Snow Queen" is meant quite literally. ;)

@@HaydrogenBomb24 Not Glimmer, HER 80s' self could manipulate light energy almost any which way. Flight, lasers, flash bombs, invisibility, other powers. In this show all she dose teleport(which varies on usefulness depending on plot) and sparkle blasts with as much force as someone waving a fan.

Wdym unlike the prom frosta has been herself in all the seasons frosta just act tough bec she wanted to protect her kingdom no matter what frosta has always been the serious one out of the group in S1 to s5 I don't get how she sudden shift her personality when she was being herself for all the seasons and frosta isn't even putting a facade she is just trying to protect her kingdom even if she's 8 yrs old I would done the same as frosta by putting the need of the people and her kingdom why does people disliked the prom I srsly don't get it

She is one of the strongest characters in the show

they make a point of stating that Frosta's magic is among the most powerful of all the elemental magics hence why the horde had left her kingdom relatively untouched up until the princess ball.

I don't think people hate her for acting 11. They just find it jarring that her character's so different from how she was in Season 1. I actually like Frosta more in the later seasons but she switched from serious queen to violent 11 year old far too quickly, to the point where it feels like the Frosta in Season 1 is basically a different character.
