Binding and confirming the redundancy function of your RX8R. When this redundancy receiver is paired with another receiver they will act as a back up to one another. If master receiver goes into failsafe, the output signal from the slave receiver will be used until the master receiver regains a stronger output signal.
Features:
● Combine two RX8R to become a 16 channel receiver
● Smart Port enabled and support telemetry
● Supports redundant transmission of two Tx modules in parallel
Specifications:
● Dimension: 46.25×26.6×14.2mm (L×W×H)
● Weight: 12.1g
● Number of Channels: up to16CH
● Firmware Upgradable
● Compatibility: FrSky radios/transmitter modules in D8/D16 mode
● RX8R more details link: www.frsky-rc.co...

I see all the questions are answered by the FrSky team. Way to go! Thats why I stick with Spektrum/JR or Futaba. They are ALWAYS there to answer questions

Ya, companies who don't respond suck. FrSky sucks.

The master and slave receivers need not to go through the binding procedure at the same time. This allows to test the redundancy in a much simpler way than removing the antennas from the master. Here's how to do it: bind the slave to the transmitter using a receiver number (say 4). If you use a Rx with telemetry, use the jumpers to make sure that telemetry is switched off. This is not necessary if you use a XM+ as slave (it has not telemetry). Bind the master to the same transmitter but with a different receiver number (say 5). Now connect them together (Sbus out of slave to Sbus in of master) as shown in the video, and connect the servos to the master. Power the master, which will also power the slave, and turn the Tx on with the receiver number set to 5 or whatever number you used to bind the master. The master LED with turn green, the slave will be red, since the slave has a different number. Move the sticks and watch the servo move. Now, in you transmitter, navigate to the Model setup menu, scroll down and change the receiver number to 4 or whatever number you used to bind the slave. At this point, if everything was done properly, the master LED will start blinking red, the slave LED will turn green, and you will hear your Tx announcing the loss of telemetry. But you will still be able to move the servos when you move the sticks on the Tx. For all practical purposes, the master at this point has no signal, but it is using the signal from the slave to operate the servos. THIS IS IMPORTANT: ONCE YOU ARE DONE WITH TESTING, REBIND THE SLAVE WITH THE SAME RECEIVER NUMBER YOU USED FOR THE MASTER. Now power the RXs on, and both LEDs should be green. You are good to go (do not forget to range test you setup before the maiden flight!)

Hi Alberto.. is there any way I can have the video for all these instructions? I plan to use the R9 rx for the master Rx and RXSR for the slave.. what do you think the best option for the R9 receiver (access)?

When binding two receivers; for example, the rx8r and x8r, and I want to output pwm to channels 9-16, I suppose I should still use the two jumpers (pins1+2 &3+4) for binding on both, each receiver while binding? As an option, can I also choose to bind one as no telemetry & channels 9-16 and the other as telemetry & channels 1-8?

I want to use 2x rx8r pro rx's to jet 12 servo channels, but I still want redundancy, can I also add an xm+ to each of my rx8r pro revievers to achieve this? So I would be using 2x rx8r pro, and 2x xm+ thank you.

Can you use RX8R with S8R to give both redundancy and stability

Hi, this operate in two independent RX or is more like master/slave? If one loose signal the other still works or only the RX8R (master)?

If one is out the other take over, It a master/slave system.

No, not for redundancy that will only give you 16 pwm channels
