I have a very happy frugal life. To me it does not mean depriving myself. To me it's freedom to choose if I really, really need a thing, will use it regularly and get ultra benefit from it. I've learnt from the past. Bought something, only to use it once and then it sits in the cupboard for eons. I'm wiser now and I get a thrill when I treat myself to even the smallest thing.
I’m with you on the simple life 🙂. When you live within your means and take pleasure in the simplest things then you are rich beyond measure. Hope next week is a good one x
A very good video. I enjoy being on my own and love to live simply. It makes life so much easier without the drama. I like your jade or (money plant) it looks very healthy. Wish I could grow broad beans never been successful. Its good that you grow things and potatoes too. Dont worry about the odd treat cake, its just about moderation. As you say you have not had any chocolate in a while.
I find the slugs mostly avoid my pots if I put them on the staging I made from old timber and treated with wood preservatives. Anywhere else the slugs destroy my marigolds and seedlings.
Hiya Claudia I think your down to earth Vlog gives a few of us ideas and tips on our every day situations especially shopping wisely and looking for bargains. I like the bath water decant idea especially myself in a bungalow its easy to scoop out and use in the garden etc. Im using spreadsheets alot now myself for logging and learning where to trim up things at the edges. I nosed at your website blimey is that all your clothing designs? and you have written a book. I hope your design talent comes back and takes off without too much stress You asked the other day about my recent job interview the head hunting bit with recommendations from others in my industry went well but it was not to be back to the drawing board as they say. How much do you get spend on water? Thats great no point in wasting it. I'm not on a metre so dont have to worry but I should trynot to waste it really. ( I pay about £25 a month)
My water/sewage bill went up by £50 last year. They tried to install a water meter in 2021 but I refused. Don't know if they put one in anyway outside, but still. I do work but still.I live in a 2 bed flat.
My sister strongly encouraged me to have one installed, and based upon her experience I did. My bill went from £60 per month in 2018, down to £11 per month. It's crept up slightly due to price water rate increases but my usage has remained the same. It's currently around £15 p/m. So my sister has saved me a lot of money. I drew the line at having an electric meter installed though for different reasons.
The cheaper dairy products get is because the treatment becomes worse like factory farming, paying more means better welfare, me myself gave up dairy 20 years ago, the alternatives are better, my siblings all have high cholesterol so have medication, they aren't plant based like me
