Great video! Coming from a mom with a 3 year old and a 6 month old. My advice is to do your research before buying big ticket items and buy things that can be used for the longest amount of time and will get you the best bang for your back. Spend money on the things that are important to you and buy cheaply on the other things. Buy used if you can because buys grow out of almost everything! This includes clothes. Also...if you are up to it, cloth diaper and these can be reused for subsequent kiddos.

These are great tips, Joy! Good point about the things that can last the longest. Especially things that can “grow” with your baby will really help you get your money’s worth!

So we hand down to friends and vice versa. We were gifted clothes as hand-me-downs for our oldest, but they then went throught mg 3 oldest children my youngest is a different gender, but we were given hand-me-downs for him, also. Consignment stores designated for kids have been amazing. We bought a swing on Facebook for 20$ and it uses a plug in, which saves on those big batteries. Sam's club diapers are very affordable and worked for my kids (I couldn't cloth diaper because of my arthritis). Don't buy what you don't need. We don't have a changing table and never have. We just keep a few older towels to put down on the floor and change down there. If you can't breastfeed (for whatever reason) contact your WIC office. They are super helpful.

Shop online-but not for everything. ... Get smart about buying diapers. ... Ask your pediatrician for samples. ... Check to see if your employer offers any perks. ... Opt for convertible gear. ... Take the No New Baby Clothes Challenge. ... Buy at the end of the month. ... Share your stuff with your sweetpea.
