Disclaimer : Sorry guys for the late upload, it's been a long and busy day. We also had to trim the video more and reupload it because youtube is more and more restrictive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Negan: "In case you haven't caught on, I just slipped my di** down your throat. And you thanked me for it" Rick knows he needs to live with Negan's rule for now. Of course we wanted Rick to rebel somehow, although we knew he wouldn't because he knew people would die. Negan took exactly what was needed to be taken to reinforce his mind power on Rick and the Alexandrians. To be honest, we couldn't tell that the smoldering pile of things on the road were mattresses at first but yeah we know now it was that and it makes a point on why Michonne was so broken by it. We appreciate you guys, for all your support, so don't forget to hit that subscribe button, it really motivates us to keep up the content. ///Rick knows he needs to live with Negan's rule _for now._ /// Negan knows that too. I dont think his actions here are just about mindless humiliation. Negan is really smart. He doesnt want temporary compliance, he wants devotion. He wants Rick as a general in HIS army, because he knows Rick's power. He needs to break Rick like he's broken Dwight, then Rick will rule Alexandria for Negan. Right now, it wouldnt take much for Rick to plan and lead a rebellion. So Negan needs to continue breaking Rick until there is no resistance left. It's a process.
Don't give up. but you better buckle up and get comfy for a while. All I can say is you will be in for a great ride. A lot of people gave up on the show after Negan came around but I promise you if you keep going you will see why I encouraged you to keep watching. The writers did a great job with making us viewers feel the despair of Ricks group and the frustration of what Negan does.
No worries. I look forward to every new episode, but it takes as long as it takes, and that’s fine, as long as you don’t get thrown off for unintentionally “violating” one of their restrictions.
What Michonne saw burning at the end was their bed and other stuff. Negan took them exclusively to further break the little comfort they could have, as soon as they got out they burned all of it
The thing that makes Negan so dangerous is that nothing he does is random or spontaneous He knows exactly what he’s doing and why he’s doing it at all times But he has a way of making his behaviour seem erratic and unpredictable Which is actually quite impressive.
@@darlahays2471 That’s awesome, I’ve been waiting for Rob and Trin to get to the Negan arc and I can’t wait to see what they’re like as it progresses on
Imagine having to hold the bat that turned two of your closest friends into chunks on the ground. Imagine having to speak calmly to the person who did it. Imagine having to thank that person. Negan is putting Rick through all the mind games. The scariest thing about Negan is that he seems totally chill. But we've seen how quickly he can go from being chill to being terrifying. And you can't tell when he's going to make that switch either. Phenomenal villain
Fun Fact: This is the episode that started the "Negan lean" drinking game for my husband and I. Each week we would play. One shot for a Negan lean, a double shot if Negan points to his crotch while also leaning, lol We were completely hammered by the end of most episodes week after week this season. 🤣🤣🤣
You know, I've watched this show at least 4 times through over the years, and I never once caught onto that until I read your comment. It makes so much sense. Of course he would think that. It just makes my heart ache for those scenes of Daryl even more. Thank you for taking the time to write this.
The thing Rick said to Spencer about breaking his jaw is similar to what he said to Shane about breaking his jaw in season 2 also I like how they confirmed that Judith is Shane kid also the thing michonne was upset about was they took there mattress only to burn all of them.
Hey! The reason Michonne is upset towards the end is because she sees the mattresses burning. The saviours took them all and didn't even put them to good use, just got rid of them. Just twisting the knife that little bit more
You guys were laughing at Negan's jokes a lot more than I was expecting. It usually takes a lot longer for people to warm up to him haha. He's the only villain in fiction (that I know of) that is both the villain AND comedic relief at the same time. It's crazy.
He is so frustrating and at the same time we can't get our eyes off of him when he is talking, the way he says "Look... at.... this!" and the whole attitude are kind of additcitve^^
@@Sabrina-xj2qs Absolutely, Negan swung the bat that killed Glenn. But had Daryl not hit Negan, Glenn would be alive. Glenn's Murder is a direct result of Daryl's actions.
Over time rewatching reactions, every scene with Negan is so fun to watch, he is just super charismatic, even when it comes to brutal stuff, he does it in his own way, to this day I dont think they could find better cast for Negan than JDM
Rick hasn’t gone anywhere Everyone else is just being emotional and wants revenge and aren’t thinking straight Rick wants to fight just as much as anyone but he’s the only one that’s being smart For me personally this is the toughest I’ve seen Rick.
Michonne walked upon a pile of all of Alexandria’s mattresses/beds that the Saviours took, simply because they could and then burned them because they actually don’t need those mattresses themselves 👀
It's like "Satan at your door" I agree Trin! The group wants to fight the saviours now. And rightfully so, But Rick's fighting the urge and being SO strong not to fight them right now. He knows they don't have the numbers or weapons right now to do anything but give Negan what he wants... For now. Making Rick hold Lucille is just cruel. 🤬
Rick is not one to give up. The gears always turn in his mind. He needs the patience of Gabriel. He needs to learn more about the Saviors. And now he knows that he can't push Negan that easily. People as cocky as Negan lose eventually. Ruling through fear only works for a while.
When Negan was talking about widows and how lonely they are right after their husbands die I believe Rick was thinking of Shane and Lori’s relationship That’s why he brought it up to Michonne Rosita knew about the gun on that Walker because they were Saviors the ones that were killed after Denise was killed some Saviors were killed and some ran away.
This whole supply drop was a whole put you in your place move Negan was playing mind games but I think that this was a way for The Saviors to get a little more payback since Alexandria killed over 20 or 30 of them.
I always felt like Rick at the end with Spencer was always like him trying to do what negan does to him. It was to let some steam off, to feel like he was still in power.
if it was that he'd have beaten spencer to within an inch of his life, which would have pleased negan as well... i think he actually showed weakness by not forcefully addressing spencer. a lot of people think rick is just waiting. i don't, i think he's truly broken. for now....
Daryls blinking when he sees Rick is probably some hints in Morse code, there's a big Morse code poster in Rick's house where everybody lived in the beginning
Negan has the best one liners of anyone on the walking dead, got to admit. What Michonne was so upset about at the end was they burnt there beds and who knows what is just to make it difficult on them
The overall episode is mainly about establishing how much Fear and control Negan has over Rick making him hold Lucille and testing Rick’s patience and every time Rick clutches the bat is just more and more of a temptation to take Negan out right there and then But Rick manages to find the courage to not do it.
@Rob & Trin , a couple of videos ago before you laid eyes on Negan I commented and said "how you see Rick and crew will change. This episode is a good example of what I mean. We are used to seeing them fearless and able to come out on top for any situation. Rick has accepted that this is how it has to be.
Gabriel did that move to make Negan think Maggie is dead, but Daryl doesn’t realize it’s fake, so he’s probably learning and thinking that Maggie did actually die, which has to be gut wrenching for him to find out, especially with him feeling responsible for Glenn’s death.
Ahhh Negan love to hate him and hate to love him you do have to admit he's extremely charismatic. Then we remember Abraham and Glenn back to just hating him again he is a brilliantly complex character wonderfully performed by a great actor.
When Rick first held Judith in season 3, he immediately lifted her up to eye level and then smiled. I think he did that and saw Shane's dark eyes and part of him was glad for that. Because he now had a part of both Lori and Shane. I think Rick accepted the truth a long time ago. He just never said it aloud. It didn't take a genius to figure out the timeline and how Judith was about 90% not his. By the time Rick reunited with them, Lori was already pregnant.
@@zeleeba8774 True. But I still think she has Shane's eyes. She does have more of her mom tho, especially the face, cause she don't have Shane's nose. 😜
I know a lot of people dislike Spencer, but he is mostly right in this episode. Rick did get Glenn and Abraham killed by being insanely overconfident about their capabilities to take on the saviors
Negan shooting out the window of the brownstone was significant because it goes back to when Rick told Jessie about the broken window theory. Windows stay intact, society stays intact. The broken window symbolizes a change in the Alexandrians way of life. Or it could just be a broken window I don’t know. I didn’t make the show.
Sometimes you don't appreciate the level of talent these actors have until you see pictures and videos of Rick, Daryl, and Negan literally being best friends in real life, even to this day. All of a sudden you're reminded "Damn. These guys can really act!"😊
Negan is one of those bad guys you just can't help liking, it's not a conscious decision to like him because he's obviously sadistically evil, but he's just so cool. It's like Darth Vader, he's evil, you know he's evil but he's iconic.
Awesome episode it was hard watching Rick just taking everything that Negan was dishing out but he had No other option I think Rick was speaking for every viewer when he warned Spencer I just wish he did it and not warned him about it.
That last scene was so cool! This was a great reaction. I still can’t believe Rick talked about Shane but I’m happy they brought up earlier season lore
Yeah after all this time, it was a total surprie hearing about Shane again :) and from the mouth of Rick. Well actually it could only be Rick, not many characters are still alive that were intarcting with Shane the most like Andrea and Lore, there is still Carl but he never brings him up.
They came in took their mattresses just to burn them close enough for them to see. Also you may have missed it but the previous episode Fat Joey already had Ricks gun, he took it when Negan was first introduced.
This Season gets a lot of hate mainly for the pacing and how helpless everyone in the group is but I like it This story is supposed to be torturous but not everyone has given up and there’s a few people that still have some fight in them Michonne Rosita Carl and maybe some others To quote Beth if you don’t have hope what’s the point of living As long as a few of them still have hope there’s still a chance they can make it through this hopefully with minimal casualties Great reactions Rob And Trin can’t wait for you to see this whole thing play out.
If Rick was already trying to defy Negan it would weaken the character of Negan. And in return less the deaths of Abraham and Glenn. He’s thinking about everyone else which is why he has isn’t trying to come up with a plan to take down the Saviors. They are outnumbered and outgunned. What can they do right now?
Negan is an interesting character. He came to Alexandria, got everything he wanted and then some, yet still feels the need to taunt Rick at the end. JDM is amazing in this role.
! collection from the tax collection agency/Sanctuary-from hell-and it was excruciating when I first watched it >< I was on egg shells and still recall how, exhausted I still felt after that night of season 7 ep1. Daryl and Rick's eyes looked heavy and worn, so I love how they conveyed it. (You guys are gunna LOVE the next episode) Carl pissed me off in this season because he's gone back to his 8yr old self and needs to be rise because it's a bad start on their part-and not for this slave driving people who are no more than pirates and bullies. They need an invisible edge and its called "playing dead..." ^.^ Spencer is being revealed here as to who and how he really feels. My love for deer: Bambi-just watched my fav Disney movie yesterday *.* R.I.P Negan is soooo charismatic, charming, frank, quirky and evil of course. That winning smile man though. Yes, the devil smiles and may actually be good looking, its sooo troublesome! Most of my fav characters in anime are hot looking guys whom are villains and it sucks lmao! Otaku/life is like this! Gabb is creepy and cute as hell *.* Michie, Samurai is not having it and Rick is trying to preserve his family and insanity.
I love that scene "Little Pig Little Pig" 🥴 Also if you remember when you guys talked about you not messing with bearded Rick when they first got there. And I said someone in the near future says the same thing that said person was negan haha which Rob brings up haha
I hated Negan so much. He's the kind of villain that you just want to slap across the face every time he shows up. Great actor. The one thing the WD does well is manipulate your emotions like a fiddle.
I think we are in the minority but I absolutely hated him every time he strutted into view lol. But I have always loved JDM as an actor and he really embodies this character
I have been looking forward to this video great to see you guys again I hope you guys have been having a great week I wish you all the luck and fortune to come
They burned their mattress’s. They didn’t need them. They just burned them. It’s hard to notice at first watch. Trust me you’re going to love the outcome. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Negan is so charming and badass that I was actually rooting for him and the saviors at this point. Can you imagine if Shane was still around? Shane against the governor, against terminus, against the wolves, against the saviors? That would be something to see. I thought it would be really cool if Shane went off on his own instead of dying and ended up with the saviors. Or maybe Shane was Negan.
Hey Rob & Trin, I can't tell you how much I LOVE episodes 3 & 4 during season 7! In fact, everytime I watch they are better and better! I actually enjoy them even more, seeing how frustrated and depressed Rob gets watching them! What makes season 7 (the first half) so underrated is that it is actually what would happen if there was an Apocalypse! There is always going to be a group who is stronger, bigger, deadlier, and more organized than you (compared to Rick's group and us viewers). To me personally, the first half of S7 was a breath of fresh air! I was devastated watching all these episodes when they originally aired. However, the ONLY episodes that truly bothered me was "The Kingdom" episodes. Which ironically is what Rob was praying for. P.S. Negan is the ONLY character in TWD universe who can be argued as a better character than Rick or Daryl. The fact that he made a lot of fans stop watching and a lot of fans HATE him with all their hearts and sousl is one of the main reasons he was a legendary character on the show.
It's difficult to see the people of Alexandria in this situation. But an important part of this, is Rick being humbled, humiliated, traumatized, and defeated. Rick sees it now. They don't have the numbers to challenge Negan and the Saviors right now. They don't. But stay tuned. Coercion and terror can only work for so long! See you on Sunday! 👍
Watching season 7 back with ye it doesn't seem as bad. I personally think watching the all one after another makes it all betted. Joined your patron in the last few weeks and couldn't be happier. All my favourites with top class reactions ❤️ keep it up
Negan taxes these people 50% instead of the usual 20-something they'd been living with their whole lives, and suddenly they're crying the blues. The dead had been walking for like 2 years at this point, not centuries. They all act like they forgot.
if negan is annoying to us, imagine how he affects someone like rick, who on top of that is an ex-cop! thank god he's so calm and composed by nature!Qualities that weren't of much use in his marriage, but here they are pure gold! one outburst on his part, and Negan would start the "lessons" all over again!
I hate Negan with a passion in this era of Negan but… the man is fine as hell… those dimples on that evil salt and pepper bearded perfect toothed slick mouthed grin 🫠
This shows how great a villain Negan is. He's a great character and a terrifying villain and this shows us why he won't be easy to take on, because he's way more threatening than the Governor.
Agreed. The Gov was superficially smart and charming, but ultimately was just an ordinary middle-of-the-road psycho. Negan is genuinely intelligent and charismatic, and is very calculating and knows what he's doing at all times. He is a megalomaniac and ruthless to be sure, but not a psycho. He's a much more complex and scary personality than The Governor, and has a lot more juice to back it up too. Don't get me wrong, I love to hate the Gov and David Morrissey did a fantastic job with the role. But Negan/JDM is in a league of his own, one of my favorite TV villains.
Michonne...not the best shot, but she's got heart and she got a deer and she is a badass with that katana. Now for one of the insane fan theories that came out about this episode, lol. If you notice at beginning of episode...there is a large print of the Morse code on the wall in Rick's house. When Negan and the gang arrive. Daryl is blinking so much that fans theorized he was blinking in Morse code to give Rick a message. We were totally desperate for resolution then. HAHA
Negan, you have a love/hate relationship with. He killed two of my favorite characters. You don’t have that same feeling about the Governor. You just flat out hated him
I know he looks weak but Rick is just completely broken right now. In that speech at the end Rick is saying that sometimes you just have to accept things in order to survive.
The burning 🔥 Michonne found was all the mattresses from Alexandria. They didn’t want or need them they just wanted to humiliate Rick and his people and take their comforts. Horrible Negan🤬
the thing that's impressive about Negan is that he really knows how to psychologically mess with people. Him taking the matresses just to burn them, making Rick hold Lucille for the whole time, bringing Daryl back to Alexandria and all that is some top tier psycho- terror. However we gotta give it to him: he does have an aura that makes him kinda charismatic as a person. As you said imagine how it could've been If he and Rick met under different circumstances. Other than that maaan... here we go with my absolute favorite person ever aka Spencer..😂 he is such a little weasle- rat. I never liked him, he always did so much stupid shit and this episode finally proved to me all over again why I hated him from second 1 😂 remember back in S6? He pulled that food- stealing crap already! And right before he was holding that grand speech about how everyone needs to stick together. He really is the worst type of people. But luckily we also had Gabriel being an absolute badass as well as Carl damn. It's only now rewatching with you that I really notice how big of step up Gabriel really had in such a short amount of time. This guy really went from 0 to 100 in no time🙌🏻
