Going on week 5 of my PSLF under review. They still have not updated my payment count on FSA from April of 119 payment. Fingers crossed. I am impatient!
We submitted a IDR waiver online about three weeks before it was contested in court. As of last week it was delete from our list of pending action and just no longer exists. Guess we will resubmit to mohela direct and also mail it in…. Fucking bullshit
Fedloans was worse many calls emails during COVID get them to honor my payments so I could pay off one of my loans! Mohela not much better. I had script with past work history to get up to 84/120 payments which may not be accurate. Plus all changes to pslf save plans on IDR is nuts. I’m tempted to forgo forgiveness with plan to pay them off but back my financial freedom next year thru my businesses
A lot of weird things with IDR- I went on the loan comparison just to see what my options were because I don’t qualify for ICR or Paye and they showed my payoff in 4 years and the amount of forgiveness, I’d never seen this before and on the website it showed that the information showing in the loan stimulator could be incorrect. I waited a few days input my information again and it’s extended my payoff for 10 years with a huge payment and no choice to get on any plan except standard, extended plan or IBR so for now I’m staying put on Save and will figure it out in November when they have my next scheduled payment. They are just playing with everyone right now and it’s sad
The department of education is a major buzzkill right now. I just hit 120 months of PSLF qualifying employment last month and need to buy back 8 payments from deferment periods so I can qualify for PSLF with 120 qualifying payments. But MOHELA only has records of my last 2 payments and ED Dept. only has loan details for half my loans dating back 9 years. No amount of calling in or emailing complaints has helped resolve the issue. I just keep getting new deadlines for when someone will probably update my payment count, with the latest missed deadline being the first week of August. I’d love this to be resolved before the election in case student loan policy changes after a new administration comes in (whoever that may be). Fingers crossed!
I want to think theyre getting their ducks in a row with all the lawsuits. I will be applying for pslf in Jan. when my kid finishes school for my parent plus loans. Fingers crossed people.
