DII sounds is more collected and focused and more pronounced in the high mids. The OG has a slightly more open highs, so its sound is slightly broader and sharper. Both sounds re good, but I liked D2 a little more. Thanks.
To my ears, the Series II is a little bigger and slightly less aggressive. Both are monsters, though. My D120-II is one of my favorite amps I’ve owned.
Man you get the best sounds with the Suhr RL that I've ever heard. Any tips with it? I've tried using the same Ownhammer IR's as you but it just doesnt sound as good. I notice you use a bit of reverb in there also, is that a plugin? Killer tones every vid.
Enjoyed the Spiral Bro title but I am lost on trying to understand the tie in with the Fat Boy title for the Tomorrow riff. Anyway, still loving that MCI you sold me, and I think you owe it to yourself to get your hands on a Hybrid Wizard at some point.
Is Series II simply the Fryette version? I heard that the only obvious difference is the effects loop and an additional knob in the front which obviously looks different in general.
Hey man, your fryette videos are the best on RU-vid, which is kinda concerning to me, I’m really interested in getting one but I can’t try one out. I like tight, articulate death metal tones. I don’t use as much gain as other people probably do. Maybe I would use the amount you do on some Of these riffs. Do you think This amp would do what I’m hoping? I usually play peaveys and EVH but I don’t use loads of gain and I’m a little over the compression. I still want some tightness. I really like to hear the character of the guitar.
I play tech death and have a deliverance. It is very tight and dry. I’d say it can get as tight as my Mesa Mark V. Very little compression so if you don’t pick a note hard enough it will be noticeable. I came from using EVH, Engl and when I got the deliverance I didn’t know what to think of it honestly. I wasn’t in love with it. But as I got used to it I started to appreciate it for it’s unique character. Also note I do use a decent amount of gain. I use the red channel on an EVH with gain around 5-6 with medium output pickups. So I felt like the deliverance didn’t have enough gain. But now it’s one of my favorite amps and there isn’t really anything that sounds quite like it. It’s also blistering loud, I have 10 amps and this is the loudest. Also cranking this amp does make a significant difference in terms of gain/tone.
@@VIRAEMIAPHXAZ wow! Thanks for the info. Yeah that’s sort of what I expect from it. I’m a pretty hard picking right hand so I’m not worried about it as much as some people, I figured i would have the same Initial reaction, not being sure about it at first then appreciating the deliverance. Thanks.
I just got a new 60 II. It doesn't seem nearly as saturated at the settings you're showing and the pickups i'm using are pretty hot. I don't think it could get as saturated even with the gain II dimed. Are the gibson custombuckers exceptionally high output?
@@blakemansfield2356 thanks for the quick reply. yeah it's hard to tell listening to it in the room vs your recorded stuff. even though I wish it had like 20% more gain, it's still the funnest high gain amp i've ever played. I like a lot of girth and punch in my high gain rhythm sound and this thing has it way more than any other i've played. i just got a mxr micro amp for it if i ever need a bit more gain. the manual says i can swap a chinese tube for more gain. i will ask fryette ppl if that's worth doing
@@blakemansfield2356 Ok i just dialed back the gain II a bit and dug in extra hard and got a lot more closer to the gain you have in the vid. and i thought i was heavy handed already lol. anyway man thanks for the tip. the touch sensitivity is my favorite thing about the amp.
